thanks so much for posting!

i wouldnt advise u use that glass buddy

cobs will get too hot that way

let me know how those heatsinks are(the fastetch ones yeah?)

they look nice

Yeah, the heatsinks is from fasttech. The centers of the sink straight above the COB measures about 43c and 30c out on the sides with 75w driver. The temp is a bit colder with the 18w driver.

What glass? You mean the seedling box? It was only to test cobs, but they did run for two weeks 247 in that box without any problem! :)

The cheapest driver from build #3 is sold out and is discontinued. I got one and they work fine, it was the driver I used for the two week seedling box test.

I didn't mind paying a couple of bucks more for china stuff thats works well. So I bought some more of the same driver with better casing.

If you want/need to keep the driver inside the grow room because of stealth or other reasons you could go for this one.

Heya Dion. How do you propose to get all the builds at the top of the thread? Do we delete all the other posts? do we put links in the first post then send people to the post for each build?

id love it if we could just move the build posts to the tsart of the thread

is that possible?

Hell yeah :D

Was really happy myself of how great they worked. Did run them trough a watt meter and the readings where constant at 18-19w. They didn't go over normal temperatures under the two weeks.

The same with Thomas Research Products 75w driver, worked very well and never got hot under a two week test running with 4 x 5k COBs in my Homebox Q30.

Dion is it ok if I grab some of the graphs you made in this tread and use in a scandinavian forum?

Just ask if anyone needs hands on information I may provide :)

no. i can't change post date and time stamp. and the thread is ordered based on that time stamp.. i will try to do it somehow, if not we will have to find another way.

i tried copying posts of your with a date and time stamp that will fit between the first and second post in this thread and sadly they are displayed at the end of the thread.
and since there is a 5 picture limit per post we can't put all in the existing first post.
as I see it we have 2 options:
either split the other posts into another thread, so the discussion is in that thread and the tutorial with the builds remains in this one
or modify the first post of the thread to host links to the other posts that contain each build.

tell me what you think we can do to solve it. if you have other ideeas please share.

yeah i migh fix that later lol
Might be nice, and makes for a cleaner post, but probably not too terribly important. I'm sure there's still enough info for people to find the drivers they need :D

on the back of those sinks is a hole(across the fins)

i suspect you can screw a m3 metal screw into it

can you please try?

thinking of hanging options

i have one of these sinks in the mail to play with but seen as u have them in the hands lol

I will double check myself tomorrow, if I can find a M3 screw. I remembered that I read this in the reviews on Fasttech.

I packed 3 7W 5630 modules on this and if powered full (20,5W measured), this gets too hot to hold longer than 3sec - but if you give the modules only 5w each, the heatsink keeps cool enough.

Build quality is good, holes on the sides are made for M3 threads, but you have to cut them by your own.

Took a bit longer then I planed. Been busy.

Didn't find any M3 screws in my toolbox. I read on google that standard pc chassis screw is M3, so i tried one.

I did manage to get it in, not the best screw and not the best tools. Just a regular screwdriver. There is no threads in the holes so you're making them as you are driving in the screw.

after some thought... all i would need is 2 bolts#8 Fine thread 20 inchas or 4pcs 10 inchs long to join the cheapo sinks at fasttec.... gotta love the free shipping they offer.

hmmmm and after seeing the price of everthing ive decide to use 4 cobs, 2 - LED ARRAY 2000LM COOL WHITE COB and 2 - LED ARRAY 2000LM WARM WHITE COB not sure what to get for a driver,
know any that would work from digikey or fasttech?

1121-1078-ND LED50W-142-C0350
1121-1077-ND LED50W-012
1121-1410-ND New Product LED50W-040-C1250-D
or 1121-1084-ND LED50W-018-C2800-D
all the cheapest of the cheap at Digiteck
So high and so confused on what model to get , thanks for the help
Cheers

shipping is too expensive from digikey so im forced to order from mauser, im switching to cree cxa cobs, thought of going with 4? 2520 or 2? 3070? my grow box is big tower pc similar dimensions like one in your builds, could you suggest me the build with cree cxa cobs, i have few drivers like the one from the picture above but i can buy new ones if needed, heatsinks and other stuff not needed also have a lot of aluminium profiles and sheets, so i need only cobs and drivers + holders, thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english
