DIY humidity controller that handle fan speed?

First of all I'd like to apologize if my writing it's not good, english it's not my native language.:dance013:
I need some help for my box, does anyone know if there's a cheap solution for an humidity controller that can automatically increase the fan speed according to humidity?

I found some controllers like the WH8040 on aliexpress but they only turn on or off a device that might be a fan or a dehumidifier none of them that I found can automatically manage RPM or the power intake or whatever.
So basically I'm looking for a cheap solution, I know there are expensive controllers which can do that but the price is worth twice the box, that would be crazy.
So I was aiming for a DIY solution but since I'm an ignorant ass and I run out of google I don't know if something like that exists or it can be built...

sorry if you cant understand my jargon...its probably going to be a bitch to understand my ramblings not being native English speaking... just let me know if something does not make sense and ill try to clarify.

first, those bathroom humidity sensors are notoriously bad. just read the reviews on amazon.
im not saying THIS one in particular is bag... just that alot of them are very shitty.

you are just not going to find a cheap solution to this particular problem, so i reccomend you adjust your requirements.

to get constant modulation like you are hoping for will require a blower or controller that will accept a control loop(analogue 0-10v or 4-20ma probably) and output to an ecm motor. i know of quite a few such controllers, but no fans small enough. if you could locate an ecm fan small enough and it WAS compatable with these common controllers... the cost would make your eyes water.

instead you should look for a multistage controller and simply use multiple fans or blowers, or some other means of ventilation.

there are tons of multistage controllers for shit like this. its very common in industrial automation to have multiple inputs and multiple staged outputs.

alternatively you could just get 2 or 3 or 10 individual humidistats. and wire them such that the control outputs are staged according to varying humidity set points.

example: humidistat 1 is set for 50%. 2 is set 55 and 3 is set for 60%.

you simply wire this scheme by only allowing number 1 to control 1 fan, 2 controls the second fan, and three controls all three fans.

instead of three fans you could use a 3 speed fan or something like that.

in this case you would have to (depending on how the motor is wired) build an interlocking relay cascade that routs power to the correct fan speed via simple on off inputs.
its hard to explain with words... just google fan speed wiring or somthing liike that.

the above is a bit much to be honest. id only recommend that if you did not have access to conventional hvac controls.

3 speed fans are quite common and there are lots of controllers that have built in relays to handle this in a tiny discrete circuit board.

i have not looked at the wiring diagram, but i suspect it simply accepts multiple on off type inputs and responds accordingly by switching to the next speed. i dont see any microcontrollers or anything fancy... so i doubt it can handle the motor protection delaying or short cycling etc. that will have to be handled by a humidistat.

Wow, ok, first of all.. I can't express how much I appreciate your contribution to this post... sadly the problem here seems to be my knowledge of electronics not much my english :biggrin: . Damn this is way above my electrician skills. I think I'll read your post a few times, take a couple of hours to process all the info and come up with something, but seriously I wanted to say thank you because your reply was very kind and you're awesome.
