DIY Aero Cloner the EZ-Cloner Replica in 10 Easy Steps!

Nice, Pseudo, I like the aquarium so you can see everything :) Can get those $10 aquariums pretty cheap as well.

Generally, you want 0 light to make it to the water, so if folks do so, it should be kept in a dark area.

Keeping aerocloners sterile really helps the ongoing success, as if you have any bad bacteria in the water, you're going to get those mushy stems and lower success rate. That's why I always added just a little bit of beneficial bacteria to the water. But clean well in between runs.

Best of luck to everyone to keep getting those pearly whites :)

Peace and green thumbs all.

Im cloning the Girl Scout Cookie Harborside cut, I know it is nortoriously very hard to clone but Im using my EZcloner.
the problem; after a week in the EZcloner I have beginning to notice stem rot and wilting of the leaves.
My solution is to cut off the rotting part of the stem and creating a freshly cut stem.
Does anyone have info on saving clones with stem rot using this method of removing the rotting part but still getting roots?

I know I shouldn't but I added Humboldt roots and Great White Benes to the rez...

One more built with the KingRalph's tutorial.

I found a 1 7/8" hole saw does perfect with 2" EZ Clone collars. No glue needed.

I used a 11/64" drill for the misters.

Epic thread, surely it's helped 1000's, including this guy! Homemade Aero Cloner cost for me was under $30, had some parts already on hand though. If ya need clones, and want them CHEAP, try making one of these. Get it set up correctly and you'll have a cloning monster :)

VEEK's post #823 is the tits

Personally, I don't like large droplets spraying on my roots. I think they do much better when the air space is filled with DO + nutes

I get excellent results with a bubbler. The key is 35 lpm air pump + 4 large Oxystones,

BUT, am moving to Flooming to create more CHI in the water. This will require a deeper tote. Next version will use a Hydro Halo Ring on tripod legs (included) placed over/in a bowl whose lip is some 5"+ above the water line. Nutes shower down onto river rock in the bowl, then cascades over the lip creating more turbulence. Pump is $10 Ring is $10 both from Cheap Hydroonics

Just a post to bring this into 2014. Keep the builds going, and feel free to post any variations or other submersible pumps you found that work well (the mag drives have gotten expensive).

Peace and green thumbs (and white roots) all!

Just wanted to say thanks to OP and rest of helpful tips in thread. Had to buy an aquarium heater as my temps were 65 with pump running 24/7 but got roots 3-4 days after heater. Also put cup of castings into stocking and leave it in the bottom with RO water. Only bubba s1 didn't root, but roots on 4 other strains.

Oh great thread! I made one of these about 4 years ago instead of buying a cloner. It looked exactly like the original model posted, but my misters sucked or I didn't have the PVC tall enough or something. It completely failed.

I then learned to just clone in rapid rooters with a humidity dome and got pretty great at that. It's so cheap and no work. However, I do like the size of clones you can pull with a cloner, so I'll probably build on here soon and post in here.

I picked up a 45 site cloner cheap off CL, so I'll be able to compare them. For those of you doing custom large scale cloners, what is our success rate? My buddy's have the 120 and a failure rate over 50%. They're lazy though, so I'm guessing that plays into it. I'd love to build a 120 site.

I built one of these years ago, and did not have success the only time I tried it.

Would this need/benefit from, a humidity dome?

What is the on off schedule for watering? I have used 1 minute on, 7 minutes off, for other aeroponic grows.
