you got me thinkin...fan leaves & other unwanted trim compost easily. stems can be shredded and composted. it's them damn root balls. they can take years to break down. no good tying up one of my tumblers with root balls. trench/pit composting is the only safe & viable alternative for root balls. for that, one needs significant property. works for me. already have a couple sink holes on the property. good place to start. layer with cow shit from the local dairy farm...and viola, 3 years later, i have my composted root balls.You've obviously never tried something like that with 250 plants ....

Actually, I'm hoping they weren't the only source in town... that would suck bad.
Don't throw your plants in dumpsters... that's for sure.

Dump it in Colorado.
Nobody cares anymore and it's great for the environment. Just leave the crap grown with PGR's and other nasty chemicals home. Thanks.

Also agree with worm bin idea.
Regarding root balls, worms will eat that too. Also Asheville is close enough to a bunch of nothing in the mountains. He could drive down a country road and chuck a root ball out the window every now and then, and nobody would ever know, especially if he used different routes. Or just as said above, take a minute to go spread it out among the other vegetation. NC is very densely wooded.

Tall and long, usually with open tops.
Pull up, pop trunk lock, hop out, fling, fling, fling, fling, fling.
Casually quick, re-enter vehicle and obey traffic laws leaving.
Do a triple, double direction change with an eye on rear view mirrors.
Take the long route home, and always look under your vehicle.
Find a black magnetic box, don't remove it, change your habits.
They can investigate forever, especially when coming up short of probable cause.
Few paranoid months go by, find a construction dumpster with open lid at least four cities away.
Follow above instructions.

Never put reciepts, mail, or anything that could identify you in the trash with any roach papers or ZigZag covers, old stalk material from smoking, and stuff like that.

Seriously, dumping shit at a college, yeah there's nobody around to see that, whaaaa, smart people do dumb things. Cause when you have a grow like that, you gotta have some brains. I almost can bet it was one of his partners ideas, maybe not, but prolly. If you can't think of a safe way to get rid of your grow garbage, you shouldn't be growing, and never rely on anyone to take care of anything that can come back and bite you in the ass, period....

You've obviously never tried something like that with 250 plants ....
lol .. gotta use a soil or coco that u flush at hte end of flower.. then shake ur rootballs out. toss roots away.. and keep soil.. leave it in trashbags watered one time with enzymes before putting in a area to store.. and u got a nice mix to use 1 to 1 with new soil.. and ur planst will love it lol.

I drive a trash truck for a job and its amazing the shit people throw out and put in dumpsters. I have found a number of people that grow simply by what they have thrown out , everything from stems and moldy bud to plant pots with root balls and stalk still in it . Also nutrient bottles and net pots for cloners. I just chuckle to myself but what if it werent me picking it up and it was someone who would nark them out ?

i run 2000w's in soil and there is a lot of what I call toxic waste.
with leaves and organic matter, 15 seconds with the mower in mulch mode and were done.
or if you have a compost pile..... there ya go.
i package the other stuff like grow bags stuff like that into the walmart plastic bags and hit the trash cans in gas stations.
all bags tied off and double wrapped securely.
when i get over loaded i use 42 gallon very thick and heavy contractors bags and tie them off so you have to use a razor knife to get into it and put it where the next day it will get picked up by the garbage truck.
soil i use to toss into the woods but that is the biggest by product by far so I recycle into planter boxes and other garden friendly ways.
if it wasn't for the perlite it would be a breeze.
you could spread it over the lawn.
but depending on the size of the grow your yard might raise a foot or two in elevation over a few years
bottom line, never throw anything in your household trash associated with anything illegal...period!

This isn't that complicated. The dumbshits used empty potting soil bags to fill with trim. Potting soil bags! Wouldn't a bunch of big Miracle Grow bags full of trim catch your eye if you glanced in a dumpster that was normally used for office waste? Potting soil bags amongst all those other black or blue trash bags? The fools were too cheap to at least make their gardening waste look like it belonged in that dumpster.
