Digital Cameras

The swivel view finders are great when using a tripod. It allows ya to get that camera in a tight angle (or upside down), and still see what you are looking at. Or hold it above a crowd, shooting the distance.

There are some nice cameras out there. Sounds like you all have found some good models.

I stronly sugest the tripod when takinging pictures that are zoomed in. Avoid stabalizer gimics, they take away light and picture quality as a rule. As mentioned before, some tripods will let you mount your camera upside down, and under the tripod. This is really a plus at times. Buy a good used one (again, keh.com / gitzo )

Get the Canon Powershot A630, 8MP and 4x optical zoom for less than $300. It has a swivel LCD which is an amazing plus. You can't go wrong!

I would strongly reccomend the upgrade to the A640 10mp

by the way i suck at taking pics...

I heard the only reason to spend the additional $100 for the A640 is if you are making large prints of the pictures, otherwise the human eye can't tell the difference between 8MP and 10MP. I am no professional but that's just what I read somewhere, but I guess if money is no object then just get the 10MP model.

The pixel rating is for enlargements (and reductions). It's like buying a cadillac with out power windows. The higher end cameras will have the bells and whistles, reguardless.

I have yet to use all the features of my camera.

Try to buy it from a place that has a no questions asked return policy. Bet the saleman didn't mention that !!!

I,m new at taking digital budshots and i was wondering if anybody can tell me how to get the rich green color my leaves have instead of bright yellow which is created by the HPS light? Here is an example of what i,m talking about.

macassa420, does your cam have a white balance feature? If so simply put it on the setting for incandescent lighting and it should remove most of the orange glow.

If not then you can use an image editing program to correct the colours in your pics.
