Digital Ballast opinions

With a properly designed heat sink, there is no need for a fan. Consider a fan on a ballast as a good way to burn it up if the fan goes out. Moving parts will wear out.

Fuck digital ballasts, IMO

But I also say

"Fuck hydro" and "fuck indica" and I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me on all of those.

A heads up

A heads up

I'm just RMA'ing my 3 week old, used for 2 weeks, 400w Lumatek Digital. The newer model WITH the fuse, still went out on me, and the fuse didn't.

Had a small brown out and the digi never came back up. Fuse is still in-tact.

They walked me through a few basic troubleshooting steps over the phone (which I had already done) and determined it was bad, and they would replace it.

This is all through the Vendor I ordered from BGH, as Lumatek never actually got back to me on the phone, after repeatedly calling the number on the warranty slip included in the box and getting an answering machine. Warranty paperwork is old and outdated anyway, and does not reflect the newer models with the fuse.

I'm def. going digital again, I consider this growing pains for new technology. The two weeks it ran I loved it. :joint:

If it doesn't come w/ a 5 year warranty, don't buy it. it's a fake. Do your research. peace
LOL, wouldn't the counterfeit seller just as easily say "comes with 5 year warranty"? It's not the seller that's covering the warranty, so what do they care?

Anyways, for anyone that's in the market for a digital / electronic ballast, or already own one... please check out the link in my signature regarding the RF EMI information!
