Difference between Skunk#1 and Skunk Special?

I was wondering what makes Skunk Special so special? I've read conflicting reports that it is just the best of a selection of Skunk#1 plants, and bred back to itself again, to improve an already dynamite strain. I've also read that it has been back-crossed to it's Afghan ancestry, to improve potency, if so, isn't that really Super Skunk?

Skunk#1 is supposed to be 25% Indica, 75% Sativa, I was wondering what the percentages are for Skunk Special.

tks.............DD

Hey DD
I'm wondering the same thing. I've just started growing Skunk Special from Female Seeds. I've never grown a skunk and kinda wondered how tall this girl will get... and what makes her so special?

Any ganja gurus out there know the answer to this one?

Thanks

They say skunk special is 100% sativa I don't think it is though. It doesn't stretch much. Though it isn't the most potent herb I've smoked it is the best tasting herb I've bought from a dutch company. It isn't remotely skunky and it doesn't remotely smell like skunk#1. Its a hard to place odo/flavorr and its been about 3-4 years since I've grown it but it's a it has a very sweet tropical fruit odor somewhat apricot-ish and citrusy but more sweet. It's like c99 in that you can keep putting a bud up to your nose trying to place the pleasant odor. I've been growing c99 for almost 6 years and I still can smell it holding a bud to my nose for hours It's a little sensitive to nutrient but very easy to grow at the same time. If you're looking for some sticky phenomenal tasting herb with a good buzz but arent looking for the most potent thing you can find it's very good. I make it sound weak but it isn't. Its about on par with skunk 1 but much much better tasting and IMO a better buzz. Hope this answers your question. Like I said the seed I got was 3-4 years ago but I doubt it's changed much. I wish I kept it around actually. It might make a good cross with a proven indica male. I think dutch passion skunk family strains are typically pretty sweet smelling and less skunky. Again I hope this answers your questions. Its been a while since I've grown it and I only grew a pack of seeds once so I was hoping someone with more experience with it would answer but I'm pretty sure my sample was fairly typical and the strain hasn't changed much.

Hi folks

Skunk#1 Sensi Seeds is often used as parent stock for breeding. Lots of variation in the seed.
Skunk #1 = Columbian x Afghan x Thai ?

'Super Skunk' Sensi Seeds (pre2000) was a a nice heavy sticky indica type plant.
'Super Skunk' Sensi Seeds (post2000) tends to be lighter in structure (less compact).... it's no longer 'Super Skunk',,, they caffed it !
Super Skunk = Afghan x Skunk #1 (TR Genetic Cookbook, c2005).

edit:
'Skunk Special' [Nirvana B.V] is prone to mold! Big time! Needs as little water as possible and good ventilation. indica/sativa mix,,, (only some plants are worth keeping...),,, some do taste of lemon :D

the above is an invaluable resource,,, geneology (say no more)... respect to TR for the background on this one,,, I often use this as a direct source of info. erb, roots, n culture dude

Yeah sorry I was thinking of skunk passion and not skunk special. Skunk passion is the one with the crazy flavor that's supposed to be 100% sativa. Its really good herb. I've never smoked the special.

Did the skunk special used to be called sensi skunk? Because I've grown that and I think it's a selection of sk 1 that is very mold sensitive (like sk 1) but better yielding and less grapey than skunkmans skunk and more skunky.

The skunk special are just from a larger population of skunk #1's.

[The skunk special are just from a larger population of skunk #1's.]

That's what I was lead to believe, it was supposed to be the "best of the best" of a bunch of Skunk#1 plantings.

Thanks for all the help, muchly appreciated...........DD
