Difference between lowe's r/o setup for $169 and the merlin r/o setups?

correcto, i have 2 merlin system one i brought from hydrologic and another one off ebay that comes with a facet kit for your sink. The one i got from ebay was cheaper, but i guess i have to buy the things i need to make it into use for a garden.

mikecar312 I hooked mine up with the parts that General Electric included with the unit when they manufactured it, all I did that was different was I did not hook the tube up to the faucett that was included for sink use but took that tube[ the ro water output tube] over to the storage res and filled it

so the hydrologic version allows you to connect a garden hose to input tap water. from what i'm understanding, this won't be necessary if you're connecting the merlin to a bathroom sink.

what tubing is used to go from the speed valve to the r/o system? how long can the ro (output) tube be? can i put my storage res 20' from the system?

sorry if i sound like a newbie, because i am.

My storage tanks were about 10- 12 feet away I bought some larger diameter tubing and slid the output tube into it about an inch or two and was able reach the storage tanks and put some gorilla tape around the joint
If you are hooking up to a sink you will not need the garden hose adapter

What is wrong here, the best online prices for the GE merlin 'residential' setup that includes all fittings is 360. The standard system for light industry/greenhouse/etc is 20 bucks less. What are you getting for 230?

costco has one for 150 I forget how many gph but had a small 5 gallon resevoir tank.manufacturer says filters are good for 5 year,and replacement set is 50 bucks,anybody used or know anything about costco r/o.
