Well the Current version of the EastCoastChem plus The EastCoast SourDeisel both have Powdery Mildew problems.....Like you said in yer PM..the cuts got weak over the years....hasnt been the same since 95 I believe was your comment......
Ive been saying for a while , for 5 years I spent living in EastHampton I used to see SourDeisel, Headband, Daywrecker and a whole slew of other stuff and it all was MUCH better than todays versions...better flavor better high....glad CD backed up my thinkin on that in that pm......Orig I thought it was cause I was younger and my tolerance level was lower but I honestly believe the stuff was better back in the 93-96 era....
whoever was responsible for keepin them clones all these years did a real bang up job...lol...
I grew an outdoor crop of 9 large plants this season. Late in the season my killerqueen began to get some powdery mildew.I took her a week or so early just to make sure it didnt spread as much. I watched VERY closely and I must say that the only plant in the garden the resisted that powdery mildew better then my ECSD would have to be the Schrom and she is one big strong hungry thirsty girl. I also grew a sour diesel 2.5 and i must say that the ECSD faired much better without even a trace of the dreaded PM.
Just my .02 worth
A few dense indicas,yes.
Sour Diesel,be it The Clone or my seeds,no.
Yup....light sensitive as a motherfucker....The SD Clone...but other than that,no real issues to speak of,and I've had that particular clone for three-plus years.
SOL's ST#3 was a PM magnet.
Blech on PM....I haven't seen any in my rooms for years.
The only plants in my Brothers garden that got PM out of his 26 strains this spring were ECSD, ECchem, Genius and Blue got a touch....everything else faired well....his bagseed version of the 2.5 didnt have a trace of mold...
And my buddy who had some real humidity issues when he threw up his new Hydro system also got the PM on his Kahuna Deisel and ECSD Spike and C99 nothing else....
PM was rampant everywhere indoors and out this year due to the real wet spring....
I honestly had never seen a plant get so infected ever......it was disgusting to look st...
moonshine-no disrespect man but you should start another thread about your experience with mold in regards to east coast dog and sour...with some pics if possible..im sure many would be interested..i personally have never heard of those 2 having mold problems
NGT is corect as correctly agreeing with Moon. ECSD, here in the west does get PM. Maybe the powdery Mildew here in the west is something differently genetically speaking, than what y'all have back east.
I will also say to moon, that the pre98 Bubba cut is a PM magnet as well. Ya just may be better off with that bubba cut of yours. In all honesty, PM can be beaten, been there done that.
The most PM resistant strain I have personally viewed is the real deal Purple Indica, as in a freinds outdoor grow it had zero, wheras, the 4-5 Bubba's surrounding it were "coated".
Hey cool, I've lived in/around albany for my whole life, and smoked trees for most of it.. I had always assumed the sour Dies came from the city, because the further upstate from the city you get, the harder it is to find sour dies.. if it did orginate around here, it is all gone now
In 15 years of hangin with the dawg at least on the eastcoast we never had pm i think its a west coast thing. In fact i dont even know anyone that ever had it on the east coast.
Great thread everyone. I have never grown the Sour D until now but i just picked up some SD IBL seeds and started gerrming them. I know I have bought some of Diesel in NYC although not which one. I am hoping that my SD will give me that same narcotic adn euphoric high. As a personal grower being able to get that quality is key to my experience. Right now I have some trainwreck going and bubba kush (from clone) and the TW gets me pretty close.
Is this thread dead? The HT article left me craving more...Twas nice to get a full page shot of the Mass SS in full flower. When you grow out rez's earlier bxs of the sour, you definitely see the mass ss dom phenos in there..Just interesting to me I guess...anymore wood for the fire here?
