I haven't gotten the flu vaccine since I was in the Army. They never seem to have the right strain. For this reason and others I am a non covid vaxer. I simply don't trust the results and side effects that have come out so far. Just my opinion....what is yours.

I followed the science and the science told me this entire fiasco was nothing but pure bullshit, and a way to control the masses…
Originally Mrs Pute and I decided to wait and watch. Glad we did. The vaccines based on history seem ineffective to say the least. Also, the side effects seem to far out number the benefits.

I got vovid last November and it wasn't a pleasant experience but my oxygen levels never dropped and I was never in serious danger.

I am and will remain a pure blood.

Had neighbors that died, and some ended up in ICU for months. I get the jab, but missed getting boosters for that and my flu shot, this fall.

The bacterial pneumonia shot...after i had that, and maybe coincidentally, a throat problem that i've had for decades, cleared up to about nothing.

Also, i had critters and i KNOW that vaccines help a lot. Although, the rabies vaccine mandates for pets just baffle me.

We had a lot of problems with f.i.p. in cats, another of those pesky corona virus...the vacc was like a wonder drug! Anyway, one of my ideas about how they got the covid vaccine so quickly, was the basic previous work with critters. I knew that worked, never saw any harmful aftereffects or problems with breeding, so was more at ease with the vaccs, than some folks.

I haven't checked up on the science, lately, but there was evidence of certain genes that make a person more likely to have bad results from the contacting the virus.

I did get the pneumonia and shingles shot so I am not against all vaccines....I just don't trust the way this whole COVID thing went down.......

Once I heard there was a 99+% chance of survival if I did get covid without being vaccinated ,I figured those are the best odds I've ever had in my life. After having cancer twice I don't spend my days fearing death, when the reaper comes he won't care if I'm vaccinated or not.

Just not the last booster...just missed it, so much going on, plus our clinic still may not have it, and i wanted all the 'fall shots', not sure if the county health nurse had shot records, or could do the other vaccs. I was antsy about the 'holiday gatherings', but survived. I really do not like very much human contact. Hermitism seems to run in the family, with the older folk. I have a rather sparky temper, and seem to get along better with people if i just stay away. Also, it has something to do with the fibro, it's the noise of crowds, mostly. I get fatigued very very fast with a lot of commotion going on around me. I have many faults.

Also, i rarely drive myself anywhere. If i go to town or the big city, the better half has a billion things to do, takes the whole day of waiting for him to do stuff that has nothing to do with me, lol. I could be home killing houseplants and taking care of critters.

No, I caught the real thing very early on, pre lockdown and figured I was immune now anyway. Plus frankly I don't trust those companies involved to make an adequate product as they have a terrible track record.

There is long term covid, too. Last i read about it, they said that those who had the vaccs were much less prone to that.

I really don't care what others do or don't. I don't judge others' choice of vaxing or not. I do know that the one neighbor that almost died, and is probably not going to ever get his old self back...he's getting the shots. ...and there's those who got the shots that wish they didn't. It's a choice. Evaluate your own self and your family' do or don't.

Had the first 2
I’d already had covid twice before the vaccines came out, the second infection left me with ‘long covid’ , so many crazy things going on from electric shocks across my head and through my teeth, internal tremors, wounds not healing, to doubled over in agony stomach cramps, lasted 18 month.
The scariest symptom was multiple strong heart palpitations all day long, one after another.
Decided I was willing to try anything after already deciding not to have a jab.
First jab stopped the heart palpitations over night, the second, about an hour after the jab sent my heart racing at an alarming rate……… that was the last jab for me

No other adverse effects since then and the rest of the ‘long covid’ symptoms slowly went away, most after starting B12 sublinguals, after working out covid depletes B12 and also stops the ilium in your gut absorbing B12 from food

The last symptom was the unbearable stomach cramps, got rid of that after paying to see a specialist and getting put on a 10 day vegetable diet to reset the stomach, well, I could eat vegetables if I was crazy hungry but was more of a fast, didn’t think it would work but it did

I’ve had covid 5 times now 😂

Had multiple tests done since and no problems found, but one things for sure, covid does fuck with some people in ways the lucky ones don’t understand

Three full doses of the varying vaccines when they were offered, due to comorbidities, and every booster since, including this year's.

Haven't had COVID, but knew a variety of people killed by COVID, including some who were relatively healthy overall.

We still wear the same masks we did at the outset, too. A GVS Elipse P100 with surgery masks over them. If we're going to mask, we're not fucking around with thin paper. Either defeat it or don't. Little middle ground and still consider oneself as thoughtful.

When my older son heads to the bush with me, he wears a P100 like ours and socially distances for 10 days before the trip. He shares remote cabins with me in those cases, and I pay for the trip. It's one thing to gift someone a vacation. It's a whole 'nother to allow them to kill you passively due to inaction and lack of concern.

With the newer sub-variants, hospitalizations were reported in MedScape to have gone up ~50% as of a month or so ago. With that, mortality.

When I want medical information, I read from well-established medical journals, not folks with an axe to grind and making money through misinformation. Especially when there's a greater risk of death.

When I check out, I'd prefer it to be on MY terms, not drowning on pink paste and being opiated in order to overcome being panicked for lack of a breath of oxygen.

Again non jab......I had long covid.. So did Mrs Pute. So, in essence covid lasted a long time. If my health was compromised I would have had a real problem. I am 73!.

Still won't get the gov't shot..in protest as much as anything. But, the next virus unleashed on the public will probably get me and millions more.....

I agree about the next one...covid was a learning experience for people and agencies. Dunno how they are going to stop it. To get a critter across the pond, it's a nightmare of vet checks and state vets, and paperwork, usually quarantines. Meanwhile, people zooming all over the globe. By the time, they 'discover' something, it's too late.

I got the astra zenica shot and it fucked me up big time never been the same since, so I'll take my chances with it.
I ended up in hospital where they just seemed intent on proving it was anything except the vaccine so I discharged myself. It took best part of a year to get back to normal. I was just one of the unlucky 1% it fucked up. The doc said it was me worrying about the vaccine that triggered my reaction utter bullshit I wasn't worried at all.
I just avoid people in general and dont catch anything normally.

I stayed consistent, getting the Moderna Product every time.

One method of assessing the accuracy and ethical integrity of a medical journal is this; Have they ever retracted a popular study/story/article?

The established medical journals I rely on have retracted stories whenever it was prudent. Eating crow is a matter of professionalism in research.

The fringe elements leading the anti-vax charge? I've never seen them retract a story where the result of the retraction would've gone against their agenda. So, they're either that perfect, or that dishonest. One or the other.

There's also the matter of how frequently a publication quotes a study out of context, versus the big picture. That's also a point of order that gets my attention.

But a person has to be willing to go beyond the initial report and look at the sources allegedly utilized in constructing the opinion.
