Did John the Baptist have a sweet tooth?

I recently learned that the locust bean is commonly known as carob these days and I recall from my childhood that John the Baptist survived for times in the wilderness on wild honey and locusts. My thinking is that JTB wasn't eating bugs, but surviving quite nicely on sweets.

grasshoppers aint bad. nice crunch. them little ones in mexico are great chapulines. I like the lime chili ones lol
