Diary of a Hydro Raid

One thing that does not show in this thread is how heat score I felt in this house since the legislation went through to allow these things. 93kwh/day was the line and I was at 153. Kinda high for a little place. I have wanted to add another light for a year now but was putting it off. This next place will be a lot larger so that higher power is not surprising. I also have other plans so I will need no more than 4000 watts for the next garden. These plans will unfold as I get things worked out. Leaving this place is literally a blessing for me. Peace GS

Powerconsumption is a bitch. I have a pool and a shop for an excuse. In fact I have a 2hp pool pump come on for 12 when the lights go out. But still, thats fucked.

Glad you're getting out of there.

So how do you do a much larger grow and use way less electricity?

I'd suggest renting multiple small spots and buy your power under different names, each under that 93kwh daily limit.

As I stated previously the last grow was 6800 watts and the new will be 4000. The house will be larger so the power consumptions seems less irregular, not the grow larger. Peace GS

Ah ok, the HOUSE will be larger, my bad. Good luck man! Every cloud has a silver lining, sounds like you've already found yours! K+

Hi GS

Just read over all this and it sounds like you've been through the ringer, more than once! Keep on keepin on'

Pretty amazing that you have been busted 3 times and yet to have charges pressed against you. I guess that's all part of the game up there.

best of luck

i was thinking the same thing....can you elaborate a lil on why you never get charged? is it only in certain areas that they do that?

Wow. Thanks for the call my friend.
I don't know what to say GS, I feel totally down right now, thinking of your discomfort.

Your hard work will not go unrewarded, you have many friends who appreciate what you did, we will help you if we can.
I have a few hours of work left then I will call back....

If it were me, the first month I lived in an apartment I would leave electric heaters plugged in to make sure I had a large bill. When I got the bill, I'd call the power company and complain about my bill being so big and ask them to come and check things. I'd put the heaters away and leave nothing showing a large power usage.

I wonder if this would be good enough to get them to bypass a check based on their previously investigating a complaint for a large bill as long as the bills were paid....?

Another idea, if a garage goes with the apartment is to pretend to have a welding business, and have the power bill under your name and the name of the business. Welders use a lot of electricity. Spend a hundred bucks on a sign and hang it on the garage. I spend a lot of time in my garage so people would always see me coming in and out.

There are probably many other ways to get by using excess power, without drawing attention, by using your imagination....

If you do start a home-based business, and convince the power company to put it on a separate meter, (most won't want to, I've tried) they will bill you at commercial power rates, which are higher than residential power rates. Be forewarned!

GS, I commend you for not letting the law keep you down. Get busted, learn from your mistakes, move on and start again. Good work!!!!

Sending lots of positive vibes and good karma your way bro!

GS wasn't charged because there was nothing legal about the bust.A judge would toss the charges immediately. This is attempt by the government to circumvent the law.
GS try a vertical grow or a colisium grow such as Northern Farmers this enables you to maximix the efficiency of the electricity you can safely use.
good luck bud and stay safe.

So you're not just a weed grower. You're a drug dealer who is Proud of what they got away with instead of being humbled by this reality slap. Why did you freely admit all this at IC Mag? You don't think this admission could hurt your case if the wrong RCMP saw it? You've given up way too much info IMHO.

So... where in the quote you're posting about is there anything that implies he's a drug dealer? Sounds like a nice stash of psychadelics to me. :dunno:

And wow, I never realized how big you could grow there and have nothing done to you except get your plants confiscated. Good to hear!

GS wasn't charged because there was nothing legal about the bust.

What exactly wasn't legal? They knocked, he let them in, they took his illegal stuff. Left his equipment, left him, and just disconnected power.

Im sorry GS, it's great that it isn't going further than taking your plants but seems like you had a huge collection. Good luck getting back on track. If it were me I would head to the boonies.

Put like that your right. But I'm commenting on the program, there using to circumvent the law. As a matter of fact a ruling came down from the B.C. courts that home owners can refuse entry of the RCMP but not BC hydro

GS, thanks for posting about this experience. There is always something for the rest of us to learn in every bust/raid report. Good luck in the future. Getting similar results with 4K the next time around should not present a problem. Happy growing!

Thanks Chimera for your very kind words. As I have stated already in this thread, if you are asking if it happened again would I risk bringing cops to someone else's house to save my butt the answer is still no. Far easier to start over than put someone else at risk.. Peace GS

wut?? how does turning them away put someone else at risk?? if it happens again dont let them in, trash your plants, and leave. your reasoning makes no sense

my friend in vancouver had 30 plants taken in an apartment, didnt take the equipment and no charges laid. They had a warrant looking for something else...

hope things go swimmingly for you GS, sounds like quite hte tribulations there.

How am I further ahead then? I am still homeless and plantless. Reasoning huh. Peace GS
