Next time just tell them no and to cut the power if they want. Same goes for any Canadian confronted by the "green police". They're obviously going to cut it anyway.

You really have to give it up for the family that stood up to these Gestapo tactics. They were innocent. How easy would it have been for them to just let the jackboots in and end the harassment. This must have cost them a lot of money and time in court appearances. These are the folks that are securing all our rights. I'm in the U.S. where this right has already been secured. But I have vowed to routinely refuse to consent to any search or request for identification papers.
