Hello everyone, I am currently growing three ace/cbg strains along with another strain the the general grow forum but since the other non ace plant showed intersex traits it was culled leaving me with these three beautiful girls. I figured I would post these here since they belong here. The plants are 25 days in flower and both the destroyer and Panama flowered almost immediately while the zamaldelica just started to flower yesterday. Plants are from seed (all fem) and vegged about 65 days in soil under led. The Zam was the last to stop stretching and flower. She is also the tallest. The destroyer stayed low and bushy but flowered quickly and has a mild lemon scent. The Panama has been ideal every step of the way and has beautiful structure. She smells fantastic already with a lemon scent that is deeper than the destroyer and more layered with other smells I can't quite make out yet...she is yummy. The Zam is giving off a very faint sweet woody type smell with a minty bottom end.

Height at Flip and Projected Height after Stretch.

Good Vibes Jahaze.

I went back thru your thread trying to determine what age / height you flipped at. What I could determine was you flipped them somewhere between week 7 and 9? Was this from seed drop or sprout or from 1st true leaf set?
[If you recall that is.:tiphat:]

I dropped 2 Malawi / Zalmadelica /Purple Haze x Malawi / Dr Grinspoon between the 27th of Jan and the 1st of Feb

[I think.. my dates are written on the pots and they are sleeping at the moment.]

What I am trying to determine is about what height / age to flip them as when you deduct hood clearance and pot Height I will have between 48-58" to stretch / finish with. My guess [with some input] is 15-18". I noted your entries on some topping and attempts at taming these feral beauties. Any thing you add / expand on that would be helpful for sure. My only concern is avoiding cutting out prime colas due to severely underestimating stretch.

Very curious about this aspect of your stellar grow.

I have my soil for this run but was also curious about the specifics of your 5-5-5 fertilizer used. ie was this a blend you put together and if so what or did you use one of the fine epsoma type preblends?

I would be thrilled to here anything you have to say around these issues. Personal insights / epiphany's / anecdotes \.

Hope my grow goes even close to yours.

Nice work
:tiphat:

Thanks holeshot. I look forward to these girls and hope I do them justice. Any pictures of your destroyer you care to share would be great. My destroyer stayed really low and just went lateral and bushy. But there are branches and leaves everywhere almost vine like.

S0ul, I believe these went in the ground late November and I started the count on December 1st which was when the last seed broke ground. A couple where already poking through at that point. The flip came about 62-64 days after they broke ground. Not being familiar with these three varietals, I did pinch off the apical shoot in hopes of keeping height under control. I typically do this and while it sometimes does affect yield it allows me to manipulate the plants to my environment. Since they flower under led I must maintain as even a canopy as possible to allow light penetrate effectively. When I used hid, it was less of a concern and I would allow most plants to grow natural. Once I am familiar with the plant I allow them to go natural if I can or many times cut back more aggressively but veg longer to achieve ideal height. I can say that the zamals stretched almost 3x and the Panama about 2x. The destroyer surprised me and just went sideways but that has more to do with this particular cut than the variety in general as I have seen many stretchy destroyers. The yield can be improved upon on subsequent runs if I decide I like the plant.

My soil is nothing special. I have been recycling my soil for a long time and simply amend it with nutrients such as organic 5-5-5. This time around I believe its fox farms with a frog on the package I forget the name. But I have used many others with same results. I add azomite and humic acid. Bone meal, kelp meal even need cake if needed. But this single most important addition is worm castings from my virmiculture bin. I make sure the recycled soil is composted before I use it and thats really all I do. Occasionally the plants are hungrier than I thought and I feed them with either a compost tea or top dress with more EWC or a guano drench. I keep it as simple as possible and while I don't get massive yield by pushing nutes, the herb is tasty and smooth. Since I only grow for me and the misses I'm ok with that. I try to stay with organic materials when possible and avoid synthetic salts. The only espoma product I use is the lime which I add to the recycling after every other grow. I see you are growing the PHxM which I almost bought. Keep us posted on your progress. I hear good things about that line. Anyway, I hope I've answered your questions. Let me know if you have more and I'll try to answer...we are here to learn from each other. Good luck in your grow.

Day 26 flower

Day 26 flower

Quick update. This is them this morning. The Zamaldelica flower set kicked into gear and is quickly developing. The Panama is already showing resin and smells great. Lemon astringent with a mild fuel bottom end...almost kushy but different...utterly intoxicating!

I don't have any destroyer yet. My panama and zamaldelica's last summer were at 8' tall. I vegged for 2 1/2 months. I would have been much better served going 1 month for 9' ceiling height. I ended up culling 35 plants due to a white fly infestation. Your grow looks very nice. I hope they turn out as well as you hope. Peace

Respect.

Respect.

S0ul, My soil is nothing special.

Thx. I appreciate it immensely.

Your notation of pinching the apical shoot...

The only thing I disagree with is the point above. :bandit:

I'll try to curb my enthusiasm for the duration. :tiphat:

Just bend the tops over so you have enough clearance from the light . I've been doing this for a long time with good results.

Keep up the good work.Your soil is similar to mine.Though I don't have wormcasting.
I'm interested to see how Destroyer performs.

Day 34 flower

Day 34 flower

The Panama is really shaping up to be very resinous. She is moving along nicely and continues to smell fantastic; lemons, incense, very nice.

Day 34 flower

Day 34 flower

The Zamaldelica has surprised me this week. She was the last one to start flowering but she has really advanced considerably. She may have passed the destroyer. If she continues this rate she will be more productive than I thought. She looks more zamal/thai than malawi I believe. I included the leaf structure to show how thin it is even compared to destroyer. She is ok with the diet and seems to love the low steady feed better than the destroyer.

Day 34 flower

The destroyer seems to have slowed down in last couple of days. She is still growing but I think she doesn't like either the environment or the diet. It has been colder than usual during lights on and maybe the soil is staying wet longer. I am going to let her dry out and see if she responds. She did stay very short but looks like she will produce ok given her size. I looked at the clone and it is also very short so I think the plant is just like this. She smells nice though with a milder lemon and earthy scent.

week 7

week 7

Took the zamaldelica out for a little feeding...she was hungrier than I anticipated. She is really packing on the flower and responding nicely to my environment. This is my first zamaldelica so I don't know what pheno she leans towards but I suspect the zamal side. She is sweet smelling with a carrot-like smell and a woody overall smell. Very sweet smelling. Tight node distance and strong branches...nice plant.

Beautiful Jahaze,

Your Zamaldelica female looks very well developed after 7 weeks of flowering, looks promising! It has influence from all the parental plants, looks quite zamal/thai influenced but the yield comes from the Malawi side.

Best wishes for the rest of the flowering!

Week 13 update

Week 13 update

Very sorry for the lack of updates on this grow. I had to divert attention to personal matters and unfortunately the garden was poorly maintained and some of the plants suffered as a result. About 8 weeks into flower I had a friend care for the plants and they were over watered over the course of 2 weeks leading to some ph issues causing lockout of nutes and halting development. Upon my return I tried to correct the problems and while I succeeded in saving the plants they failed to reach their potential. I will post pictures and I actually chopped the destroyer as it is finished...or as close as it will get considering the stress from week 8-10. I can't begrudge my friend as he has no gardening experience and was doing me a favor. Some plants suffered more than others but they were all affected one way or another.
