I feel you, I smile when some folks say how simple growing is.

But this here set up is real nice, you doing a drip system too, right

It's isn't in the plans yet. For now i plan to hand water using the submersion technique. I may add something later, but I enjoy picking up each plant, examining it, telling her how beautiful she is, etc. It's very Zen to me. Building stuff is the same way. It takes makes my mind stop racing and focus on the task at hand.

Something I read about and want to try is the Organic Bubble Bath Tub (OBBT). Stupid name, I know. Basically it's an organic hydro system. Take a bucket, put some air stones in the bottom, cover with a few inches of lava rock, drill an overfill hole (kinda like a hempy) an inch or so lower than the rocks, then fill the rest with a airy organic soil mix. Something like 25% perlite, 25% vermiculite, 25% Coco, 25% organic compost/soil.

I got the drawers and door fronts edged. The drawers are cut down, and painted. I got the drawer slides to install them. They should fit perfectly now. I also got all the rest of the hardware for the doors.

I got the two light traps installed, that was a tight fit. I am not going to have fun when I have to replace that filter. Man that melamine is some reflective stuff, even with these there was still a slight glow. So I painted the whole interior flat black, sorry I forgot to get a picture. No more light leaks, and the false back was put back in place.

:woohoo:
I'm so close now. I just have to install the doors and drawers, and build the lazy Susans and the second coliseum. I hope to start taking clones and getting the first half filled up within the next couple of weeks.

The home stretch

The home stretch

Heading into the home stretch. I got the doors hung, and installed the drawers and hardware. I still have to install the hardware and locks on the doors, light proof the doors, building the Lazy Susan for each side, and finish the last coliseum. I hope to have some plants veging in there by the end of the week.

Fire it up!

Fire it up!

Got the hardware and locks installed. Started the light proofing, but it still needs work. You can tell the right side is on.

Not only is it on, but I also put some plants in there. Currently it is holding steady at 81°F. These girls will veg out under 18/6 for a couple of weeks until I can get 10-15 clones off of each. Each one represents a section. Three Delicious Candy on the left and Deadhead OG, Tahoe OG, and OG Kush on the right.

Soon I should have something like this from each of those plants. These are some Delicious Candy I am growing in my filing cabinet. They are about 8.5 weeks and will be harvested this weekend.

After running all night the temp maxed out at 85°F. :good: That's without many plants in there. I've found that as plants take up more volume and transpire more, the temperature is easier to keep cool.

Veggin' Out

Veggin' Out

The girls were drying out way too fast in the solo cups, turns out the fan was on 24 hours instead of lights on only. I transplanted them into 6" square pots anyway. They are pretty close to being able to provide me with enough clones. I still need to build the second coliseum, the Lazy Susans, and deal with my light leaks.

Clones

Clones

I took a half tray full of clones today. I should be able to get 30 to root and fill up one side. I'm going to wait a few weeks to take clones for the other side. So they are staggered by about a month.

Lazy Susan

Lazy Susan

I got the two Lazy Susans built. I still need to improve light proofing and build the second coliseum.

How do the pots come out to hand water, the lazy Susan
spins to allow a removal position, I guess.

Tall plants plus the container height may be interesting to
know how that comes about.

The pots are slightly tapered, so they easily slide up and out. Yes the lazy Susan allows me to spin a section to the front where it can be removed, watered, and returned.

The plan is 12/12 straight from clone. The Delicious Candy got about 12" tall in the filing cabinet. That's about the size in this picture.

Looks about right to me.

That's good, looking forward to filling that cab, no doubt!

The wait is killing me! Few more days, I'm getting ready now.

Sooooooooo Brilliant!!!!!

Really great job
:thank you:

I went and got a bag of Coco Loco and filled all the pots. When I checked on the clones, I thought they needed another week. So I'll get them in here this weekend. I'm going to use a low wattage CFL for the first week or so until I see new growth.

These moms were not looking too good in the smaller pots, so I also picked up some 2 gal fabric pots. I may throw them in my storage cabinet and flower them out under the LEDs. I even debated flowering them in here.

Clones planted

Clones planted

Well today I finally got my clones planted. I am missing a few because only 27/36 or 75% rooted. The ones that didn't root were on the edges and not totally covered by the seedlings mat.

They will get 24 hours of 40W CFL until I see new growth. Then I will turn on the CMH 18/6 until they are 4-6 inches tall.

I've decided to flower out the moms on the other side as a comparison.

V-ScrOG Coming Soon

V-ScrOG Coming Soon

So the girls were flipped to 12/12 and I started getting worried about the buds growing into the bulbs. I thought about using some hardware cloth around the bulb, but that didn't appeal to me. Then I remembered Marlo's vertical screens. I decided to shrink the design down to my 2 gallon fabric pots. Here is a single screen, made from 1/2" PVC. The holes in the screen are 2" for scale.

I have six plants in there, so I wanted to make sure they would fit. Here are all six in the cabinet. This may be easier all around than the 30 clones.

I plan to get them built this weekend, next round I will veg them in the screens then flip.

Got screens?

Got screens?

Got all six of the screens made. I didn't do a whole lot of training yet, but I will as they stretch. I think I'm going to like this setup.

Clones are right about where I want them, I flipped this side to 12/12. This side is on from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the other side comes on from 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM. I think this side will go perpetual clones, three in and three out every week for variety. So far they have only been watered once.

I always come to lurk and marvel at the cad drawings that started it all. This thread is actually what finally motivated me to get into sketchup + autocad.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar, and those plants are looking NOICE!

:thank you:

I've been using Sketchup for years for different projects, it's a super useful program. I think it was Anti that inspired me to use it to design my cab(s).
