Dependant on a single pheno of bubba kush and need advice. Can I replicate this pheno? Please help

Hey all, long story short I’m a medical patient who got dependant on using a single pheno of bubba kush for a long time. I've run out and now I'm f*cked. No clones or mother plant are alive. Other phenos so far are causing negative side effects, destroying my ability to function.

My grower has been growing s1s from verdant green and CSI humboldts bubba kush/pre98 bubba - which was where the first pheno came from. The first grow of CSI didn't go according to plan and we only came out with 7 stunted phenos, none of which resembled the pheno i used before. Both breeders said the strains/s1s breed relatively true/uniform and I should find something similar.

I have one small dose of the pheno left - does anyone know if it can be tested for cannabinoids/terps/thc etc. and then some how its effects replicated by means of using isolates? (thc/cbg/cbn/cbd etc. isolates, and terpenes instead of the plant). How those %s would convert into amounts used for isolates- i have no idea. I'm just spit balling out of desperation. It might also be too expensive.

I could search dispensaries in my city that carry the real pre98 bubba (better yet from Verdant Greens/CSI seeds) but id need to inspect/smell the buds closely and they prob don't want me doing that. There are some other hangups here: with there being different bubba breeders, variations, and inauthentic bubbas out there in dispensaries (some dont disclose or even know the breeder), it would be difficult and expensive to find what I need specifically (I have made attempts at this in the past). I believe dispensaries often lump in different phenos together in their offering which would also make matters more confusing.

I'm at a loss, not sure what to do and trying to dig myself out of this - its too daunting/overwhelming. Next harvest wont be for 4-5 months and my grower might have issues again. I might also not find a similar pheno in that batch. Maybe I should take the last dose then quit using? (which would come with its own huge set of issues, but maybe its better than putting myself through the negative effects of trying phenos that dont work).

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems finding what you want. Everything changes sooner or later and if we don't change with the times we will have problems. Please keep an open mind friend, I hope you find something that helps.

Thanks, I know it sounds nuts...but it couldn't be more real. With said pheno, I'm able to function normally and its crazy how night and day the others are in terms of their effects on me (same strain and breeder). Perhaps my brain chemistry or nervous system receives cannabis effects in a strange way. I'm surprised that I've never heard anyone else bring this up.

Are you looking for a relaxing indica? Part of it might be psychological and part might be tolerance. After you've smoked a strain your body will adjust and most of those negative effects you're talking about will go away. At least that's how it is for me. Don't give up yet.

i also have a lot of the same troubles you describe, and your analysis on the whole matter (incl. the dispo stuff) mirrors mine ...

i really like bubba stuff, especially katsu cut (except for the suffocation factor from what i assume is an allergy to a specific terp), but the only stuff that is truly medicinal for me (anxiety, muscle/ joint pain, g.i. disorders) always come from the chemdog family.

so i must do the search you are on, for myself.

i think smell is certainly a good tool in this search, and sometimes dispensaries have a sample cup with tiny holes where everyone can plant their nasty noses, but it's certainly not ideal.

if i were you, i'd keep at it with the nspecta and v.g. gear... i imagine it's the best bet, in terms of finding it again.

i'm gonna scrape together some change and give some of vg's chem gear a shot at some point, and i see there's also the fat bubba and the bubba zhuzh (which is bubba heavy but has chem d, gets me excited), and he has some other works with bubba.

you could also look into sour bubble (good luck lol, sorry... o wait, fat bubba has sour bubble i think... vg used a s.b. to bx it, iirc) which is supposed to be very medicinal for various ailments, some say the best, and it's supposedly related to bubba or has bubba in it... and l.a. confidential, which is also apparently related to bubba? idk, ppl say it's similar.

and if i'm right, are you looking for a clear- minded, daytime, active indica that allows you to still be productive?

if so, i'd look into triangle kush... i've only ever had it in hybrid form (numerous times, different hybrids but i'm pretty sure i've pegged its traits), and i've found it to impart some introspection, so i tend to keep the dose low and add it to other stuff, but overall it's a great and relaxing og kush type (rather than the usual boring og kushes or the ones that get my heart pounding for no good reason).

and ace seeds gear... they have pakistani chitral kush (pck) which i've heard has phenos of nice and relaxing yet pretty clear and unobtrusive, and they even have a pck crossed with pre98 bubba which i will try at some point, and many other surprising strains that hit a wide variety of niches. dubi is awesome.

also, you might have luck with other afghani or pakistani or wherever genes... you know, pure indicas. there's a user on here that has a tashkenti they swears is the best, apparently a very unique and medicinal individual that they cannot find or recreate.

there would be a lot of hunting, might take a long time... but i bet you could find your #1 that might blow your old #1 out of the water.

but anyway, i need to slow down and stop soon myself, for different reasons.

no, like immediately upon inhale i start feeling it, and then i almost die because i cough and can't inhale for the next minute.

but the effect is so damn nice on that katsu bubba, it's worth almost dying. plus, i slowly get used to it and it isn't as bad once i smoke it for like a week straight.

If the pheno you liked came from CSI or VG, buy multiple packs of it and run it
Don't expect any consistency in the smoke as the genetics may be uniform in terms of structure and appearance but both breeders mentioned don't "breed" their lines too much
CSI has done a 200 plant run of bubba kush, he got some nice specimens there all leaning to different directions
So to get to a good bubba expression I would choose a line of bubba from CSI (S1 with the traits you want) buy a shitload of it and hunt it
