Deficiency or Pest ? Help required.






I`m really not sure what is going on with this little lady . She`s always been strange looking but her vertical growth is ridiculous and she has rusty , yellowing leaves. .

Any knowledgeable advice would be appreciated.

think you need go give a bit more info, pot size, nutes, ph? ect.
i had similar plants grow like that when pots were to small.

That looks like an Mg deficiency. Defianetly not pest related. It almost looks stunted or rootbound as well. How big is your pot. If u dont have it in a big enough pot, try transplanting to a bigger pot and then flushing it.

Its not root bound , it has always been a bit of a freak height wise. Its from a rather odd looking clone . it was put in that 1.5L pot about a week ago. 1 week in to flower. roots are healthy but not excessive.

Whats good for Mg deficiency , is that Epsom salts ?

That is NOT an Mg deficiency.
First, I suspect you have insufficient light.
Next, we need to know pot size relative to plant size, how long it has resided in the pot, and the soil type.
Information on the pH of your soil runoff is also important.

I see evidence of a potassium def/lockout, but WHERE it's coming from needs to be determined before we can tell you how to solve it. My guess is if the plant has been sitting in the same pot too long your soil chemistry is off... filll out Stitch's troubleshooting form and we'll get it sorted.

What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 1.5L square pots (changed up from a .75L pot 1 week ago. )

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)A Mix of Peat : Perlite 70:30

What Nutrient's are you using?How much of each with how much water? How Often? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* : BioBizz Grow/Bloom 2ml/1ml : Litre

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? 5.9

What method of pH test was administered : ph indicator liquid

How often are you watering? every 2 / 3 days

When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? every 5 /6 days

What size bulb are you using? 250 watt HPS

What is the distance to the canopy? 6-8 inches

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 55/65%

What is the canopy temperature? 78

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 78/64 (28C/22C)

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) 1x 5inch OUT / 1x4inch IN

Is a fan blowing directly at plants? yes

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? generally yes

Is your water HARD or SOFT? a little hard

What water are you using? Tap left out for 24 hrs

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? Dead leaves removed

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No

Are plant's infected with pest's? No

Huge problem: You have added no lime to counteract the acidity of your peat! Hence the low runoff. The only thing saving you is your hard water. Had your water been soft, I'd expect to see runoff numbers even lower!

Let your soil dry out slightly between waterings- constantly moist soil makes plants react more severely to acid soil problems.
Flsuh with water at pH 7 to bring your runoff up to about pH 6.7 (it will drop again, promise ) and constantly monitor your runoff. You will be wanting to mix up your fert solution and then adjust it to about pH 7 before giving it to your plants, again to balance the acid soil.

Next time... don't forget your lime!

this maybe the answer but if this is the case why is it not affecting my other plants which are in the same soil and fed the same mix . could it be that this strain is slightly more suceptable to PH fluctuations .

My hunch would be that she's feeding heavier and thus showing deficiencies earlier than her less ravenous counterparts... try to fix it before they start looking peaked too!

I have a strong feeling that is actually a calcium deficiency.

Does either Epsom salts or molasses have calcium in ?

what i said earlier about the PH was wrong .i just tested the run-off water and it within acceptable limits.

Well, I'll bet it doesn't stay in those limits long.... Yes, what you have there could very well be a Ca deficiency or lockout. Neither Epsom salts nor molasses contain calcium. You'll want to be running calmag, pHing your fert solution to the high end of your desired range, and definitely watch that runoff pH for signs that your soil is going sour on ya.
