I will put up some pics when I can, I need to get a new computer cable for my digi cam. Hopefully I'll have one within a week or two. After seeing these shots I am looking forward to these ladies even more. Not a lot I love more than big exotic smelling purple buds :joint:
How did they yield Lean Green? Should I expect amazing things? :D

Oh, how I'd love to run this plant outdoors... lucky!!

My experience with the Deep Congo under lights has been that if you get it to bush, it will yield. The pheno I've been growing for the past year likes to grow its branches really close to the meristem, almost vertically. But it also responds amazingly well to crimping, and with some judicious bending it can be made into a tight shrub without topping. I can get 4-6 tops in a 2 gallon pot in a very tight grouping, and they all turn into big, dense Deep Chunk-influenced buds with lots of purple striations and absolutely ridiculous aromas. Mine reeks of dirty mop water, white sage, bell peppers, onions, potatoes and myrrh, but after 4 months in the jar cures out to a very specific and unusual smell - the scent of an empty bottle of anejo tequila, dead on. It's uncanny.

Personally, I like to pull the Deep Congo before there are any amber trichs, because it tends to get sleepy and zonky when taken too far. At 53 days it's just right for my tastes (and everyone I've shared it with). The well-cured sample I just now burned with my roommates had flavors of chocolate, cinnamon and sage, and filled the entire house with a rich, acrid sage-incense aroma. Definitely unlike anything else I've had.

One thing myself and others have noticed about the Deep Congo is that it's a very 'rhythmic' strain. It tends to enhance and accentuate rhythm in any form, not just music. It somehow tunes one into the fact that everything around us, ourselves included, is basically made up of vibrations, harmonic resonances. And rhythm will begin to jump out everywhere. It's a wonderful herb for improvising musicians, that's for sure. It comes on quickly with a wave of energy that makes you want to stand up and move around, and often causes spontaneous dancing and boogieing when shared in a group. Seriously, it's happened too many times to just be coincidence at this point. This shit is just chock full of music.

The bubble hash from Deep Congo trim is absolutely amazing. I run it from frozen fresh trim. Even when pressed, it cures out to a beautiful rich blonde and crumbles easily into a fine, dry powder. Despite its dry texture, it's full melt/clear dome all the way. The kind of stuff you break out when you want to impress someone. The hash carries the tequila and mop water smells in the flavor. You wouldn't think dirty mop water would taste good, but it does. The dry sift hashish from the Deep Congo is even more flavorful, almost too flavorful. Even a small hit tingles the palate.

Important - watch for mold. The buds get very dense, and can be prone to mold in the cure. My pheno takes a good amount of time before the core of the buds are dry, and requires more transfers between the jars and the cedar box or paper bag than my other strains do. The big heavy stems take a while to dry. So when you think it's time to seal up the jars, give them another round in the paper bags just to be sure.

In my opinion, this plant would be worth growing even if it didn't yield, due to the distinctiveness of the finished product. But the fact that it yields like crazy in 53 days is just gravy.

Hats of to you, Lean. Way to rock the DCon, bro. Can you believe this stuff isn't more popular than it is? Everyone is so busy chasing around endless OG Kush and Chem family backcrosses, incrosses, S1's... when there's some of the most wicked pure F1 Afro-Ghani around just sitting at the Boo for like $60. Personally, I won't even smoke OG Kush. That shit bores me to tears. Great if you want to take a photo or taste something nice, but it has no head to speak of. But that's just one man's opinion.

Same guy who came over and threw up off this weed, is now going around telling his buds it's the highest he has been...EVER.

Really powerful stuff, and smells fantastic!

I have 10 in 5 gallon buckets of CoCo, and 3 four footers in water farms.

Momerath- Iwould imagine that they will yield huge for you. Based on my experience they grow like Ponde says, bush them girls out and start gathering your jars because your gonna need them. The plant pictured was in a 2 gallon bag of coco, yield=4 to 6 ounces. The dry bud in the second pic weighs 14 grams and is perfectly dried and cured.

PondeLftHndSide- Very good post bro! I feel like we have been burning this stuff together from the way you've described things.Awesome! Florida peeps are all like"kush this and kush that" until I pullout some Dcon, then they shut up about their wet kush. I tell a lot of people to get some of these seeds, and most say, no that's not what I'm looking for. Huh? Everybody is looking for strain that has it all, great smell, taste and effect. Not to mention it yields big and fast. Oh well, to each his own.

Raco- My friend, what's mine is yours! Actually, I have so much Dcon now that it's all I burn with my guests. It is impressive smoke that is perfect for chatting with friends. And if you don't have much to talk about with someone, you can talk about the the herb and how it smells so good.

Bobby Stainless- Whoa, I can't imagine the weight your going to pull from those Waterfarms. Hell, the buckets of coco will produce big numbers. I wiil have to come buy your show to see this.

has anyone smoked this and also bhangi haze from ACE seeds? I would ask about red congolese from reeferman, but that doesn't seem to be available any more. Just looking for a comparison, I definitely want to try a congolese but deep chunk is crossed with so many nice things right now... especially krush.

I'm very excited now to see how my DCon's (love that nickname btw ) perform outside. From what you guys are showing me it looks like I could have a bit more than expected. And I'm beginning to think I may wanna pick up another pack or two of these for furture use. I'm also gonna be making seeds with my nicest DCon girl with pollen from my champion Double Strawberry Diesel stud, should prove to be an eclectic pool of genetics in the offspring.

Posted this ? on the other Deep Congo thread but just want to make sure somebody sees it. HAHA Anybody know if the seeds Gypsy has listed on the boutique now are this same F1 or are they different, like F2 or something.
I was under the impression that these sold out awhile ago. Really interested in this one and would love to add this one to my rotation. Thanks for any info!

As far as I know, they're the F1. Rumor has it that Richard Williams is working on the Back to the Congo right now, Deep Congo backcrossed to the pure Congolese mother. I'm all over those seeds when they drop! Even if they were F2's, they'd still be every bit as desirable. There's variation in the F2, but not a plant you wouldn't want to smoke, that's for sure. Deep Congo screams to be taken to F2 and beyond... you could stay busy for years with this line.

I'm actually smoking the first hash from the first harvest of my new garden right now - Deep Congo! I had one in a small pot that was totally ready to go at 49 days, and we just ran the frozen trim in the bubble bags. On my way to stir the second run while sizzling a bowl of the first run of 74u.

I'm working on the hash with a professional chef tonight, and we're just going absolutely crazy picking flavor notes out of the Deep Congo hash. There's the predominant nose of potatoes, bell peppers and onions, but with a heavy scent of fresh figs. The flavors are all over the place. This batch has a strong floral component, lots of sage and myrrh, and a sneaky but extremely strong pine/cedar note that lingers looooooong on the palate.

We've been smoking med club offerings for the past month, and it's so wonderful to finally have the Deep Congo back in the pipe. I can't believe I have a plant that delivers a truly distinctive connoisseur head high in 49-53 days! The Blue Dream I've been getting at the club lately has been fantastic, but overall we've found it too confusing to be an all day herb. And it isn't very good for meditation. Wonderful social herb, though. We've had some amazing all-night round table conversations with the Blue Dream. But I hate running out of Deep Congo.

Hey, thanks for the reply bro. I love your user name! Guess I need to get my order in for these pronto. Had my eye on them for the longest but never pulled the trigger. I bought some of the Cannacopia Xs cuz they sounded great for the price and these were a bit more expensive. After reading these 2 threads, I realize I may have F'ed up not getting these before. The smoke sounds wonderful, really unique, and that's the kind of shit I need to have around. So what's the story on the Blue Dream? You know, lineage etc. Envy you guys with the access to the Med scene. Don't think I'll ever have that kind of thing hap'nin in this backward ass state. Thanks again for the reply. :joint:

Yeah man, the Deep Congo is an amazing plant. I'm a Sativa guy. For me, Indicas are generally for bedtime and hashish. The next fastest plant in my collection is done at 65 days, some go for up to 16 weeks. I've grown many of the "Cali Elite" clones just once because they just didn't do it for me in the finished product. I also have very picky friends with very sensitive and demanding mental palates (like my own). And the Deep Congo fully satisfies. From the very first toke, we all knew it was a keeper supreme. In fucking 7+ weeks! Unheard of! I've never had anything finish in under 9 weeks that I didn't get completely sick of halfway through the stash, except for the Deep Congo. We almost cry when it's gone, and have a harvest party when it's ready. Trust me, if you smoked my other keepers, you'd know that's saying something. I only keep the best, and cull the rest.

Blue Dream is either Blueberry x Haze or Haze x Blueberry, not exactly sure which plant is which parent, or which version of each line was used. Thanks to the Cali clone name-game, nobody seems to know for sure. Legend's Johnny Blaze is a selected Neville's Haze mother crossed with DJ Short's B130 Blueberry male, and is still available. That's the only Haze x BB line on the market I'd fuck with, personally.

Never say never... things are changing everywhere, one person at a time. Be that change. But stay safe in the meantime, because the Man is wise... and we're all still outlaws in his eyes.
