insane, whats up. where the hell ya been bro, you havent heard much on the DC????????? must been on a long trip:D here some input from the breeder

"Deep Chunk"- This one is probably my favorite pure indica of
all time, select individuals can be very potent. It's a relatively
heavily worked inbred line- goes a long way back in northern
California. This extremely broad-leafed hash plant is originally
from Afghanistan. Potency & flavor has been the driving force behind
my selections, & this plant has consumed the majority of my efforts.
The smoke is real "thick" & the flavor ranges from skunk to hashy
pine. It is relatively lower yielding, but, IMHO is a very high
quality indica. Outdoors late September to early October. Indoors
less than 60 days

Hi Insane,

I must say, it is a little bit off the wall to spend that much money on a strain you don't know anything about! ;-)

from Tom Hill -- "I think it will do just fine outdoors in B.C.. Its very chunky & not immune to mold, however it does fine in a greenhouse here & mold has never claimed more than about 2% of a crop in this situation. Standard tips here are to be careful with over feeding & don't squeeze buds before their time (rub leaf instead). Either of the above can damage tissue & provide a place for mold to gain a foothold imo. Generally speaking, the strain is highly influenced by environmental factors. If you all of the sudden slam them with food, light, heat etc, it will show. It will adapt to many environments, but I advise introducing changes gradually. We've grown it along side Durban Poison, Hollands Hope, & more (all supposed earlies). It finishes earlier than any of these, & imho the finished product is far superior. There's lots of flexibility in harvest timing as a high % of them will pack on the resin early. As we get into late flowering though, she puts on a good % of her weight- she's what i call a true finisher. What i mean is that her flowers ripen simultaneously for the most part & she's not one that keeps throwing out pistils late in flower. During the last 10 days or so, when most all hairs have turned, she blows up pretty good due to uniform calyx swelling. This in conjuntion with clouding trichomes gives her a look I call velvet. I like to wait for them to blow up to velvet, but not let them sit around for too long after they do. She'll also go to a very deep purple in later flowering, but flavors turn to hash & potency declines if she goes too long. We have to bust our hump to get a pound out of these outdoors due to its earliness & profile. The garden featured in this thread averaged approx 1/2 pound per (30gal bags & good sun), but we did get off to a late start."

(see his garden pics if this does not seem low!)

From someone else -- "yield: not gonna win any prizes, I've averaged around an OZ per plant of "dry cured bud only weight" (very heavy, dense resionous buds) (largest one was around 1.5 oz...smallest a little under .75 oz (I normally averge around 2-3 oz per seed grown plant grown under the exact same conditions and time line)"

peace, love, etc

Note: Don't top them!

no brother the seeds are a gift to me from a friend, thanks for all the good info.i will be doing my outdoor,i think they will like the cali sun.stay up ,stay safe

Hi Insane,

Good friend you got there. Enjoy the Deep Chunk. I'm getting very impatient trying to get it to root for me.

peace, love, understanding ;-)

thats one of the things i heard about it ,that clones are hard to root.yeah he is a good friend.i am hoping to be using the dc in some crosses.stay up morgan ,stay safe

Even though I haven't grown the strain... I know folks that have moms of it. From their runs, I would stay away from topping her and go with a single cola method. Either way, she's a real gem. I have huffed DC and I'll say.... if this hasn't won (doesn't win) a best indica award, then we KNOW it's all bullshit

did someone say Deep Chunk clones??? (all from that tall dark phenom grow linked in my sig)

guess which plant is the Deep Chunk clone...lol

yeah they are one of the most fickel to clone strains I've messed around with

very slow to root...then they seem to stay dorment for a few wks....then slowly start putting on new Veg
...those small clones in my pics have been in my Veg room for well over 5-6 wks...and are just now starting to put on new Veg growth at a decent rate

my normal 99% clone success rate dropped to around 50% with the Deep Chunk cuttings I have taken...so far...
