Deep Chunk

originally came from tom.

i got mine from farmer joe who got them from Nspecta years ago. was unsure but i just heard back from farmer and thats the info he gave me on them.

to be honest i was not liking at all the way they were looking but now after seeing the pics in this thread i know i got the correct chunk because they all look funky so i'm guessing it's just the way the chunk grows.

still looking for more info on the dmt, i have males of both dmt and chunk and will be making fresh seeds of both and i think i will breed them to see what we might get. i wish i had thrown down some straight up sour bubble to grow along side these two but it was the "D" turn so ya maybe next time on those.

looking forward to see how you guys do in here, already learned a few things about this strain so ya thats always a good sign.

respect guys ..

Glad to be able to help. My Deep Chunk hybrid cultivar has some sour bubble in it, and I think thats influencing the terpene profile. Very refreshing indica profile with hues of fruit.

i have to admit im mainly a small plant grower so mine will never just AHHH ppl like the big ones out doors or grown in larger pot's. i grow in one gallon containers and i top everything and strip the plant completely except for the first node under the topped location. so when done i get plant's with TWO main buds and some with FOUR main buds.

like this blackberry cookies {blackberry cobbler phenol}

this one had some lower branches that i should have cut away early on but i want to see a bit of how they did left alone.

peace ..

roms how tall were those dc you harvested! how long veg and flower cycles ?
Already said it ten times man, just read! My DC plants are onebuds 12/12 from seeds and non-fertilized! I'm micro labs macro breeder and those plants are for seeds creation.

And just look, my plants aren't harvested yet, seeds aren't ready! ;)

Sorry, didn't see where you posted that information in this thread. I haven't had time yet to go through Deep Chunk on the rise thread. Thanks for answering my question.

What is blda theory? Does look like a miniature for sure! Very stout and compact! 6 weeks veg plus flower would normally get you a little more height than that!

So is that small plant an unusual DC phenotype, Raco? :smoke:

I've previously run KOS and TRSC DC versions. I'll take everyone's word that they used legit stock, but I do think the selection was maybe a bit off or the population wasn't very big in the repro.

KOS turned out some really nice broadleaf individuals, but lacked the general traits that people expect when they hear Deep Chunk. Still, really great smoke.

TRSC hermed pretty bad, but it could have been my conditions at the time.

I recently got some DC from Meduser (Woodhorse) that he was letting go of. He received them from a member in a private forum, which is something we all know happens quite often. They're about 3.5 weeks into flower now and just got dusted yesterday with some pollen from about 4 boys. 5/5 m/f ratio, so we'll keep everyone for the pollination and run a bunch next year. I do know that Meduser is working on a new repro with some HTC packs, and maybe some other stock. Here's a few recent shots, the last shot was them in veg. Bottom right is a male that I kept a cutting of. He's really handsome.

Yes! Thats the Deep Chunk! Those look great and uniform! Large amount of flower bract leaves like a good indica should! Its intersting some of the leaflets are narrow at the connecting point with the leaf petiole, and some are more broad. Glad to see this is a normal variation in the line. Also wavy leaves seems to be a common trait.

Where did they get the HTC packs? Hill Temple Collective hasn't been in operation for years! I gave OG Bub some of my stock in 2018 to get him some new stock to work with. :smoke:

Anyone hear from OG Bub from HTC lately? Thanks for sharing!

How is vegetative growth? Is it close enough to normal to let them grow next to other indica lines?

Glad to hear more about more Deep Chunk preservation runs!

Going to have a mini repo witih the pack of 21 DC this year, also will be crossing with My Deep Chunk hybrid cultivar, Pine Tar Kush, and Sterling Skunk! Deep Chunk got mailed out Christmas Eve! :smoke:

Hi Kamyo, good flo and repro to you with them!

WoodHorse received two dozen of @icon 's seeds from me and for free so ? Maybe you grow a part of them, got to ask him because it's some IC member's work ;) But according to your less broad leafing plants looking i guess it's a different line, probably derived from @Raco work?

Btw good to know KOS's work is more BLD (y)
About TRSC no surprise, a lot of their breedings are bad, they rock only with landraces imho!

I'm not sure where he got the his HTC stock from. I just saw that he was starting a new run of some stock for a reproduction and spotted an HTC pack in there.

Veg is spot on compared to everything else here. Prehistoric looking fans, short plants. Just a very dense plant with a thick jungle of vegetative growth under the canopy.

The biggest sign for me that these are likely legit is the whorled phyllotaxy (or similar traits) that I'm seeing on some. Internodal spacing is almost non-existent, and it's very similar to some PCK x PanamaDC that I made a while back and grew out. Always wondered where that trait came from. Wasn't from the PCK or Panama, so it makes sense for it to be the DC.

Great info, thanks. I considered pressing him for more info about the source, but didn't want to overstep. Perhaps he didn't feel comfortable disclosing the user, or just didn't think I'd know who it was. But I can check to be sure. I fully expect it to be a member on here, as you mentioned. Would be cool if it was from icon since I've seen those plants grown out in this thread. Makes it easy to compare. Here's a pic of some he posted a while back from a previous run. Screenshot from Instagram, so not great quality photo.
