None of the Sour D phenos I ever had were that great. I've grown a half dozen different phenos, all somewhat similar. They had a nice peak to them, but very short lived and relatively bland. Smells nice, but nothing memorable. I've seen a nicer pheno on here grown by Norcal that actually looks like decent smoke. So I can't speak for all the cuts, but all the ones I've tried were unimpressive and if I were to compare them against their hype--just plain fail.

Pre-98 Bubba is a beautiful plant. Never enjoyed the high enough to keep, though. Very low ceiling on that plant. It certainly looks good. I wouldn't call it bait and switch weed, like blackberry kush, but it certainly looks nicer than it smokes. Seasoned smokers around my way are nonplussed at the notion of bubba.

These have all fallen by the wayside to other strains that are more in demand--which I won't get into. I'm already straying off topic and don't feel like turning this into a back and forth, which it looks like may be happening.

I appreciate the interest, guys.

After wake n baking, I feel like I sounded slightly dickish.

Not trying to be curt or contentious.

I appreciate you guys coming to this thread.

I wasn't rivaling sour d, gc, and bubba.

Just saying they weren't on that name-your-price threshold that other strains can bring in my locale. It tends to be one or the other, and with the people I vend overage too, they pay either really well or very poorly.

...and opinion wise, they really just don't blow me away like other stuff does. Not saying they smoke the same. I'd put Sour D and Bubba on par with each other as far as overall potency (despite the wildly different effect I get from each, they each represent their classes well), and GC on the bottom of that totem pole.

have it good.

Nah not dickish at all Lifebreather, I was just ribbing ya for putting Sour Diesel on the same level as Bubba and GC. ECSD is levels above either of those but it sounds like you're one of the many growers to get burned by a Rezdog Sour Diesel stunt double. For all that scumbags supposed love for the cut, he more than anyone else has done more to damage the cuts reputation. Greed is funny like that.

We're in agreement on Bubba & GC. Those smokers you know are smart people, Bubba flowers are pretty to look at but they can't get a gnat stoned. Makes decent hash and outcrosses well so there's that. GC is a nice change of pace once in a blue moon. Heady high with some sour apple flavor. And that fast finish time... she's good for something.

Anyway, I was just busting your balls and showing my girl Sour some love. Take it easy LB. Btw, you still running that frosted out NL? I remember those photos from a while back. Bling bling.

I see exactly what ya was sayin. .. and could agree more.... theres so so so much mediocre sour out there running into the real is like a needle in a haystack. ... in the disp world u prob never will see it again...
And also agree with ya on bubba... i dont mind smokin it... but havent grown it in 8 yrs for the reasons u mentioned ... Wouldnt mind a jar but keep lvpk as my real dark musky kushy type kush...
And a jar of gc aint bad to have around for the flav...
Lifebreather i remember tha nl ya found fms right... neway that plant looked as elite as elite could be hope she still around

No, she's no longer with me. For good reason. She just didn't smoke all that good. After not smoking for a couple weeks, the first few hits can slam you, but trailed off shortly after that. Too hard to grow right and bud rot was a guarantee.

I've tried tracking her down, but I haven't been able to get hold of anyone I gave her to. They're still active here and there, I just get no reply.

Glad to have reacquired this girl.

I'm going to keep a single plant running for the foreseeable future, I think she would be fun to cross.

I have some strains with amazing qualities that could use some of what deadwood offers.

There's a reason it's not being spread around, it's pretty lame. Our crowd all did a 1 and done run, once was enough.

guessing you had a strain that somebody passed off as deadwood because the strain i got and i grew was fantastic and has some off the best pain killing properties i have ever come across

Anyone ever successfully run her outside yet? What's the flowering time like indoors? I have a few of these sitting around, trying to decide if it's worthy of a 200 gallon smart pot on my mountain or not.
