I'm sure they will throw in a few grow busts, as long as something dramatic enough happens... Ill be tivoing it as there will probably be bits and pieces of info that are useful, though im betting 90% of it will be screaming naked people high on pcp.

april 2ed, maybe we can learn somthing or two... probably wont have any/many grow busts, not exciting enough. still.. might be intresting.

Yeah I watch stuff as much as I can, it seems like with S.W.A.T. shows they like to just show 10 guys kicking down a door and throwing flash bangs in a house with small children and unarmed individuals in the house. So my guess is that it is going to be a bunch of Male Bravado and guys on steriods which are Illegal; throwing guys around.

Damn straight. We should really give some consideration to whether this is the best way to deal with non violent "offenders." I know that's stating the obvious... but damn.

THe Government doesnt need to fund a DEA task force or otherwise spend hard to find funding...to bust grow houses....
They dont need to spend a fckin nickel...

Been in this a long long time....n... .. I cant remember one of the gazillions of growers I've known or known of.....who got popped ....... getting nailed by a Grow Room task force or god forbid the DEA.........

NOT ONE...

Each n every one got popped due to his own EGO......

Some of em were smart guys..great growers.... but when it came to Risk Reduction ??

They just didnt get it.....

Showing your grow to another grower.... is giving a Get outta Jail card to a person with a higher than average likliehood of one day being in a room with two detectives lookin at more time than he can do...
while rationalizing his ass off....
The % that rolls over on somone is in the 98 -99 % range.
Check the stat.

Tellin a married Person = tellin two people ...50% of marriages go belly up in an ugly way.

POint being .... YOUR EGO is YOUR WORST ENEMY..... Any time or energy you apply toward risk reduction ..should be time and energy spent reflecting on what the fck you were thinnking when ya told ANYBODy about your grow.

Ill be genuinely surprised if there is a single indoor grow bust on the DEA show. Ive hardly heard of DEA busts on indoor gardens. Im sure there will be more than a few outdoor "busts" though. I think it's going to be a 100% propaganda show-of-force series. Maybe a couple tips to be gleaned but its not like the DEA is going to open their playbook on cable tv for everyone to watch.

Okay, I take back what I said yesterday. The D.E.A appeared to be just doing there job. Seemed like just a bunch of Type "A" personalities looking for an adrenaline fix. After most bust went down, the agents seemed to treat the individuals with respect. I know they wanted them to flip over on someone, but compared to local and County S.W.A.T. Team shows I have watched on T.V., these guy are much more professional and keep any type of Anger in check.

Some Asshole S.W.A.T. guys out of Kansas on TV ordered his guys to throw Flash Bangs in a front yard full of 3 year olds. He justified it by stating that the people living at the house put the kids in harms way, not him. FUCKING IDIOT!!!!

I must say that probably the D.E.A. has ruined many family's but like the guy said: good people sometimes do bad things. Man those words are still ringing in my ear's and it is fucking loud!!! It is hard for me to blame them at that point for my actions. I wish I could, but I can't. I talked with a D.E.A agent years ago and he stated that they are not going after POT. That is kinda what the Show last night reinforced, but it sounds like in Cali that is not the Case....So I am just more confused.

Peace

I watched it too and it was crap.. just like cops for the most part. Once youve seen 100 rednecks pulled over it loses the same appeal. The DEA show seems to follow the same format .. show them busting into one house after another. yawn.

Well as they explained (weather it is or is not the truth) that they were only pretending to arrest her so he would not know she narced on him.

Also it is worth mentioning that I had an acquaintance who got narced by just this type of scenario (just with local cops and pot) and the snitch was never arrested where as my friend ended up getting charged because he refused to help.

I'm sure some of you might not like me to mention this as it may in some way encourage this behavior. However what goes around comes around and what he failed to realize is the guy he snitched oh had a brother in a Tongan gang and suffice to say got what was coming to him :spank:

As for the show I thought it was surprisingly well done, and those officers definitely seemed to be respectable individuals with good intentions. Though i would add that they needed to cut all the getting ready bs and get more than 5 minutes of action per episode.

it sounded to me, the way the guy said it, that they had no intentions of honoring that deal....
but it could be, ive seen it both ways....deal no deal..

After watching an episode last nite, a few thoughts. First, those aren't true "DEA Agents". They are basically local cops sworn as DEA agents so they can cross state lines. A joint task force really. The DEA doesn't bother with knocking down the door on some ghetto trap house for 10g of crack. The local boys do that then turn over the case to the feds once they get up the food chain to the big distributor. Second, talking about the deals they offer on the show, right at the end it says that no deals are official until approved by the prosecutor. How many of those "deals" do you think the prosecutor upholds? Id bet close to zero. Lastly, its scary how many snitches there are out there. Good reminder how many people will flip on you if they get popped. Be careful!

It actually reads that the deals are approved by a prosecutor BEFORE they are made to the suspects, they flash that for about 2 seconds so its tough to read unless you have a dvr.

Also keep in mind that this is television, you only see what they want you to see. I'm sure theres far more people who don't turn than do, but that doesn't make for interesting television. If it were as easy as they make it seem the drug war would have been over after a week. Though if you saw last nights episode it was funny having the same guy get away twice in a row...

Ive got a bad feeling that very soon these people (the ones that snitched) are gonna start turning up dead....

You may be right about the wording of the disclaimer. But I know for a fact that legally, no cop can cut you a deal that will hold up in court on its own. It's solely up to the prosecutor and if prosecutor tells you to fuck off, you're screwed. So they are saying that they call a prosecutor after a bust, get the deal worked out, do the paperwork to ensure it holds up, THEN get the snitch to fulfill the snitching job? Eh I dont buy it. But if a snitch is dumb enough to put themselves on camera setting someone up (that dead thing you mentioned) they arent too bright in the first place.
