Despite the promises of the Obama administration, the US DEA is still blocking attempts by scientists to research the medical benefits of marijuana.
And why do sources such as this insist there is LITTLE or NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE for the medical benefits of cannabis, when research has been ongoing, unhindered in dozens of other countries for decades?
Just because all these studies weren't done in the USA does not invalidate them, nor make them unsuitable for review by NIDA, the FDA and DEA.
In fact, medical marijuana studies are ongoing at UCSD and possibly other places in the US right now, and the results seem very positive so far.

Why is that?Marijuana is the only major drug for which the federal government controls the only legal research supply and for which the government requires a special scientific review.
