I am now using 1/4th tspn of epsom salts every watering, I have given these plants a couple of teaspoons through out their lives.

Its too much Epson salts...I tried doing that and the plants really went yellow really fast..so I only do it when the leafs curl...i didnt have to feed the plant that time..so I threw on some epsom salts...next 2 days..yellow came really fast..use it sparely

Well my plants are looking a lot better and its been only 2 days on this feeding schedule. I doubled the amount of tiger bloom I was using to 4 tspns and I have not seen any indications of burning. I fed on Friday so I will be following a 3 day watering schedule and I will be feeding again on Monday. I think I will feed again at 4 tspns of tiger bloom. I will keep at this feeding regiment unless I see burning.

I did find a couple of amber trichomes today on my White Widow. I saw only about 2 out of 15 or so trichomes on one leaf so I tested another leaf and I found none. It seems kind of early to start seeing any amber trichomes even if it was only a couple, maybe it's because of the stress on the plant from lack of ferts.

Jus be carefull (sorry I didn't get back sooner)

Jus be carefull (sorry I didn't get back sooner)

In soil it's gonna take alil longer than a couple of days ta see the full affects, jus don't get ahead of yerself.I'd like ta tryin explain something to ya about the soil you have that ya might not know. It's the microherd, microscopic critters that live in soil.Fox Farm soil is loaded with em.What these critters do is,break down all the goodies FF put in the soil and it feeds it to the plant plus they eat the plants excrament(waste),keepin the plant and the soil healthy. With this in mind,I would strongly suggest getting some Big Bloom. It adds more micro-organisms plus food fer the plant. Having a heathy micoheard will buffer yer plants from many forms of stress caused by nute def.,ph fluxuations,etc...Speaking of ph.Tiger bloom is purty low in ph and it would be better if ya mixed it with big bloom ta bring it up.Also by mixin these two you make the TB more palaetable(sp) or easier for the plant and the microheard to eat.A spoonfull sugar makes the meds.go down.lol... To me TB seems kinda harsh and not too forgiving to beginners, easy ta over-do might be a better way ta put it.I would suggest easing into until your plants get some of there vigor back.Somethin like 2 tsp per.gal every 3rd watering, remember that the microheard is going ta help carry them too and it's always better ta under-do than ta over-do.That's why when most folks first start I suggest useing big bloom only,it's hard ta over-do,the plants jus love it,and they come out with a good crop the FIRST time.If there's any yellowing before week 5 jus add 1 tsp of grow to a 1/4 cup of big bloom, outside of that it's big bloom every other watering=SIMPLE!!! Well Tiktok I hope this has helped. You have a keen eye for detail, and textbook style, when ya get a few grows under yer belt your going ta be a master at this so hang in there.Btw don't worry about those amber trichs.(like IC Mag)there's always a couple of odd balls in the bunch.(wink) If ya need anything else jus hollar.Good luck and take care...BC

B.C.,
Thanks for the nice compliments. I took your advise and watered without any ferts. I also know about the microherd and how it breaks down the ferts but I have also heard that some of the fertilizer is readily available but a lot of it needs to be broken down first before the roots can utilize it. Could be wrong but thats what I remember. The plants do look better and the yellowing has seemed to slow although not completely stop. Next watering I think I will use 2 tspns of tiger bloom.

One thing to note is my runoff today had a ph of 7. I figured it would do the plants more harm to try and rewater with ph adjusted water and shoot for the usual 6.5 ph so I left them alone. The ph of my soil most likely jumped from the 2 tspns of dissolved dolomite lime I added about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The amount of ph up I must add when using the tiger bloom is outrageous I was hoping this would help.

Thanks again B.C. your a good man!

I had a feeling ya knew about the microheard. And yeah your right about the nutes being readily availble....If I were you I would either get some big bloom to mix with that TB or do away with it all together and jus use Big bloom or get some age old organics bloom. You know one thing about soil and having a microheard is that it really does buffer against ph flux.So if yer water is at 7 don't worry about it,that's fine. And again if the TB is too much ofa pain in the ass get rid of it,you'll be glad ya did. That's why I didn't care for hydro,ya got a ph every thing.Soil is so simple once ya find the right nutes.lol I haven't had use a ph pen in years.Well anyway...Take care,BC
