Pondering that, I realised it's not the Russians. If they had such capability, we would be seeing it in the Ukraine.
This can only be China. We know they want Taiwan, and that the Nato countries likely to support Taiwan are seeing drones. So when these same drones are seen over Taiwan, and accepted as the same, they can then start doing damage. The US isn't going to help, knowing the same things are in their airspace, but they have nothing in China. It's like talking about fetching a gun, when their is already one to your head. That's invisible. So there could be one anywhere. Stopping you getting your planes off the ground, and just how will ships do against them.
The only other option really is aliens. But then, the aliens just seem to be sending the 'No' message to certain players.
Of course there is another option. These actually belong to the US or UK military, who really should be developing swarms, and have no interest in confirming their abilities. For it looses plausible deniability.
We have a tradition of deploying vehicles within vehicles. Booster rockets, and such. We must want to fire something like an icbm full of drones. The lights might even be a means of communication within the swarm. Jam that?

No way it’s the Chinese or we’d have seized all their assets by now like we did with the oligarchs.

in the article it just looked like weird likes in the distance so it could have been anything

I'll agree the video which I was able to see is not definitive, but it is odd and in the area where other things are going on
a piece here and a piece there, tough to make sense out of it
so you think these sightings are all related? and there is something much bigger behind this

peculiar reflections of the current era, reality reflected in a crazy mirror
attempts at communication by something? maybe not aliens but something stranger
people see strange things they cant explain all the time , in the olden days they thought they were angels
but its not proof of aliens anymore then its proof of flying fish or dragons, but i dig where you are coming from man
i remember the first time i saw a stealth bomber (the b-2) i was viewing it from a head on angle so it looked just like the flying wing (or disk) from uso lore and because it was flying towards my position and climbing i could have sworn it went vertical in its flight
a lot of ufo sightings were later shown to be military/ aeronautic testing
but the drone angle is interesting, and how it coincides with the rise in privet/ commercial/ military application of drones
where ever they are from its kind of becoming a thing and if they are able to interfere with air traffic or fly in secure air space its a problem that needs to be looked into

I base the communication angle on reports that claim to have to experienced communication with UFOs
is it their purpose? that's where my little knowledge ends
one thing is predictable, they'll continue to do their strange things maybe as long as humans are around
