A basic light trap involves more room. These cabs are already short on room.

I just ordered 2 8" for my 6" elicient and c25 for that very reason. :joint:
SAme cab, only one passive right now, and its working fine with a 4" 210cfm

Hey JumblyJoe.

Yo dude, I probably could have squeaked by with one for my 6" since i have a fan controller, but my house is not insulated and 9 months out of the year it's hot as hell. I figured the two vents would be enough to really beef up the intake on those really hot days when needed without straining my fan (it's been through enough). Plus you save a lil' when orderering the two together. Not much but when you consider the $400 or so setting up the c25 (not including lights or fan, i already had those) and reworking the veg cab the money does talk. I would have hated to order one, it not be enough and then order a second and get popped with the shipping again. I've learned my lesson wasting money on inadquate cabs and from now on will RESEARCH and not be a cheap bastard. It saves a big headache. My c25 is TOP NOTCH compared to other boxes i've built in the past. Even though my gf was opposed to it, she complimented me on the final product. She's the toughest critic of all. :joint:

Did i mention that i will only use darkroom vents in the future. They take up less room, they are easier to install (less work), provide more airflow and peace of mind than pvc elbows. Also they are about the same price when all is said and done. What are you guys waiting for? Order some, you'll see.

P.S. Look for pics of my finished c25 cab in sumo's mill's pride located in the growroom design and setup in the grower's forum to see the vents in action. I will post the pics up tommorrow afternoon when the gf is away. :joint:

Yea, when I built my C25, keeping cost down was a key factor.

it ended up being well into 4 figures. But I dont regret it.

if I would have a veg room for my mom's and the other side is my flower room , so if my veg lighting comes on and open the louvers this would leak light in to my flower room?

I have 2 8x8 on order but I would like to cut the holes now as I wait... What size square do I need to cut 8x8, bigger, or smaller?

I would wait and just trace the outside of the louvers. I tried to cut first also and one was a lil small and curved (plastic). Also remember to place your louvers high enough to get the proper intake. Your pot will cover a lot of the intake if you cut to low. You see I cut to low.

Hey seadonkey - Mysta177 hit it square on the noodle. Wait until you have the louvers in hand......couple pencil marks, square it up, drill a hole and cut with a jigsaw. MAKE SURE that you set a couple of your FLOWERING POTS or equivilent height pots in there and see where the top of the pot. comes up to.... this is where you want the BOTTOM of the louver. The air flows right into/through the plants....sweet indeed.
When the louvers are in hand....it will all make sense. If not..... I'm more than happy to help if I can. Can't post pics at the moment, though.

I use 4 of these in a Mills Pride U2/U1 combo. YES...they do glow. I sprayed mine several times with black/white/black/white. Once insalled... I double up some A/C replacement filter and put it on all the vents....no more glow... or nasty dust in the box. I just use white duct tape or foil tape to stick it and just gently vaccum once a week.... O.K. every two weeks..LOL. And all is good.
