That skunk note is palatable, in veg it makes your mouth water.

Had some males a few years ago in veg and culled for the reeking,
overwhelming smell that filled a large warehouse.

Kept the lone female, from a batch of seeds found in the fold of a double
LP years ago.

Making a cross, fucking takes forever to find that funk, but its there.

Im still waiting on further test grows to confirm, but i found 2 males last year that stank more than alot of females. they also had high trich production and beatiful strudcture. i believe im going to go with the later flowering male as his progeny have showed most potential.

(imvho) it seems the secret to the rks terp profile lies in the root exudates and micro biology. if we could quantify the exudates in say, garlic or skunk cabbage and apply that to cannabis, we could unlock rks in a lot of things.

Been awhile. Got good and bad news.

Been awhile. Got good and bad news.

I will have to catch up on thread . Did i miss anything worth while ?
I am still waiting for the original cut to come home . Until then if it ever happens here is where i am at .

The new girls .

Mtf sorced from the vally it self 30 year old version/cut ( matanuska thunder fuck ).

G13 sorced from a retiered botany profeseror( time will tell but credentials were on point)

10+ yeaar old cut of Skywalker selected from what i would assume to be original stock release ? (Not sure when it was released)

I finally got some of my original sour dissel seeds to geramnate (early 2000 original stock s1's) . Makes your stomic turn with sour then over powers the sensis with dissel/fuel/karosing leading to a smoth skunk cabbage finish wirh just a hint of fresh leather. I know this girl well .

My 70s affie x cotton candy yielded no viable seed .

I had this conspiracy that the skunk odor was artificially bred into cannabis lines starting in the late 70's by the CIA/FBI so that it can be easily spotted in public via odor.

The rks i grew 10+ years ago was a at the time a 20+ year old cut and sativa leaning in structure . So a late flowering geno would likly be ypur best route....

Thats interesting and important info. I had one Headband cross outside last summer that had a nice strong RKS stink on the "third world bus depot diesel exhaust"/"burnt rubber" side when it was a living plant, but in the jar it is dead boring bland; low odor, low flavor, etc. Nice yielder tho, except it yields kinda shitty bud so I'm stuck smoking two jars of "the bland" instead of one.

This is not a joke . You might be vary surprized.

Grab a hand full of strian in question then put it in vacum pack bag and or zip lock bag with littel to no air.
Then put in a hot/warm car for a 1.5-2 weeks . Some time's/ most of the time it will bring the rks smell back in full force if not stronger then before . indapendent of other terps depending on moisture levels .

Dankwolf, I remember a little while back you mentioning somewhere that you grow a lot of your weed for your wife who apparently can put it away as good as any man so I wanted to mention that my wife loves "The Bland" its her favorite smoke. She says that the more flavorful terpene-packed stuff make her cough too much. She just wants the THC and fuck the flavor, not a bad woman to be married to, honest and straightforward like a good pothead. So I'm going to end up growing more of it for her this summer, thanks for the tip on getting the stuff to express itself odorwise. It already pretty purple flowers, if I could get some fraction of the haul to be tastier I might get to enjoy some of it myself. I think its funny as hell that of all the weed I grow my wife likes the grass clipping stuff the most because everything else chokes her with the terps. I'm legitimately wondering if maybe I should dry the stuff in the oven next fall just to make sure she likes it. I hear stuff from her like "the stuff we smoked in high school didn't make me cough like this" like she is an oldschool schwag weed connoisseur, its kinda laughable and convenient at the same time.

maybe so, but the skunk of the 80's certainly required none of that. stinky all the way from mid to late flower, to any time after drying.

I was not sayining the hot car trick makes rks . I am just sayinh it cam bring it out in flower that otherwise would not have the profile.

RKS soil biochemistry is something I've been researching for a while in non-Cannabis forums.

I have to wait until this Summer to test some ideas out in the great outdoors.

I've always said that the ultimate RKS stench will come from a combination of genetics and environment.

your on the right path , few strains I've ran indoors I've moved outside in natural dirt and hose water , and there all screaming roadkill , hydro and purchased soils will not bring out those expressions, 'IE' why we can't locate RK most are hydro or using mixed soils .... and my dirt in backyard is nothing special ......

Just like grapes, cannabis takes on diff terroirs from the soil it’s grown in.
Colombian grown in Colombian soil and climate is best. Hawaiian grown in native Hawaii is best.. if you can recreate as close to possible all of he variables, the better chance of having something turn out killer. Like old school road kill from the south east US or roadkill grown in humboldt.
