Dangers of Growing Near Frack Sites?

I've been scouting plots for next season and I found two very solid spots. About 11 hours of sunlight in the summer, about 8 at the end of the grow season. Very secluded, nobody wanders through or hunts these two spots. Plenty of high overgrown weeds 6' high. Even a third possible spot in a natural crabapple orchard not too far from the other two.

Anyhow my main concern is that there are a number of fracking wells in the area, a couple as close as 300 yards. Drilling has long since ceased, and now all that remains are large pipes that gas rises out of.

We're all aware of the dangers of fracking on nearby groundwater, but does that mean that things grown in the area could be dangerous?

These spots are otherwise ideal, but I'm thinking that in order to avoid anything like this I should avoid digging holes. Rather, I should plant above ground in pots (although not smart pots, as I don't want the roots digging into the possibly contaminated earth/groundwater).

Will planting in pots (or perhaps burying pots to prevent the loss of moisture associated with the soil in pots above ground evaporating water more quickly due to temperatures fluctuating with air temp) negate all of the possible dangers or should I abandon these spots altogether?

*I don't plan on using water from the area at all, I am just afraid that growing in that soil could yield bud with all kinds of funky shit in it.

If the soil where you plan to put plants is relatively undisturbed, there should be no need to worry about it or the water quality in that area.

Have you ever seen the regulations those guys are required to operate under? Extremely strict for environmental protection purposes. Their pads are probably cleaner than most folks paved n swept driveways.

Only thing I would be concerned about is,
When are they going to come back & tap that well again?
