Also, do you mind showing me the difference between a plant that is too green, and a plant that is "healthy" by your standards.

Just wanna make sure we're not talking about different shades of green ;)

I've got a scale that weighs to the 100ths place, so thats good..

As far as your advice for the h3ads recipe;

I mixed 2g of each in 1 gallon of water. Each yield 450ppm for a total of 900ppm or ec 1.8

This is close to what I end up with also (1.6EC with R/O water in my garden on my meter). You will want to dilute your mix to 1.5. Do this by adding water or using less nutes than called for (i.e 4 gals worth of nute in 5 gal. of water).

From h3ads thread:

In the coco, I am now using 6ml/gal micro and 9ml/gal bloom which gives the nute profile:
N 97
P 60
K 105
Mg 41
S 27
Ca 97

adding 1 g/gal epsom salts to the solution changes the numbers for mg and s to:
Mg 67
S 61

ANDDDD from this jacks thread: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=231574

1 gram of Jacks Hydroponic in 1 gallon of water = aprox

N=13 ppm
P=14 ppm
K=57 ppm
Mg=17 ppm
S=22 ppm
Ca=0 ppm

1 gram of Calcium Nitrate in 1 gallon of water = aprox
N=41 ppm
Ca=50 ppm

D9's Recipe i think is 1.6g jacks + 1.06g calnit to get 600ppm
64-22-91 = 3 - 1 - 4

So, by my calculations, 2 grams of each Yields

N=108ppm
P= 28ppm
K=114ppm
Mg=34ppm
Ca = 100ppm

N is a little high but the ratio is like 3.75 - 1 - 4..

Also, the P is alot less than that in the h3ads ratio..

Can you explain a little more..Im confused as shit

You are correct in your calculations. Not sure what it is that you aren't understanding? Forgetting to factor in micro nutes (not listed in the recipe calculations) into final EC calculations maybe? As for the lower P levels, cannabis doesn't require nearly the P most people think it does. It can withstand a lot of it in the media without issue, which is probably why you see such wide variance in the available nute recipes.

This is too green, notice how dark they are.

These are close to right for color. Plants were a little hammered after the RA war was won :moon:.

Other things to look for are leaf tip burn, and leaves curling under. The infirmary sub-forum has a great sticky on nutrient def, and bugs.

Im confused because the 2g/2g ratio is about the same w/ more N...(in terms of profile) (3-1-4 compared to 3.75-1-4)..

Aren't we shooting for 3-1-4, or I've even read that 3-1-2 is a really good baseline...

I guess in other words, Why does the extra N benefit coco plants, or what about the h3ad formula is better for coco than the d9 ratio. Doesnt the Jacks/Calcnit combo already have a little bit too much N?

Heres some pics of the leaves, and the girls...

I would definately compare my room to yours after the RA, not the first pic. You be the judge :)

Shitty lighting in the room obviously, so i plucked a leaf..Its funny how the different lighting makes it look different colors.

Take your pics in the dark homie

I actually have 2 light sockets in the room and can put in regular bulbs to take pics..I just havent done so because there arent any buds, and nothin really to see.

I'm planning on getting a really nice camera and starting my own grow/food website/blog...So yal can expect some epic bud shots...Just kinda a hassle for veg shots. You get the idea

Read through your DabLab 2.0 and now here...Props on getting your house and upgrading your grow man.

I'm hoping to get a shop next year and run around 12k lights, so seeing you go through all these learning experiences is definitely valuable to me.

Glad to hear you got the humidity issues under control and the plants are on the upswing.

Keep at it!

As you get to know your strains, you will notice that you might need more n during certain stages of growth for certain strains..My sours eat it up during flowering...

Study CEC (cation exchange capacity), of coco specifically, and you'll understand better. Basically it comes down to coco's affinity for certain nutes (N,Ca,Mg mostly). Coco will literally pull out and lock up certain nutes until it's CEC is satisfied. The added N in h3ad's formula compensates for coco's need to lock some of it up for it's own purposes. d9's formula is designed for a low CEC medium that doesn't lockup nutes because there is little to no CEC to fill.

Again I'd like to remind you these recipes are not set in stone. They are merely a good baseline to work off of. Watch your plants very closely, they will always tell you when they need something ;)

Oh and it's hard to see the overall health of your room with hps on. The pic of the single leaf shows nearly perfect health however, this is what every single leaf in your room should look like. If they don't, you have work to do.

Bout the time I hadta shut down and retire I had true clone only Chem-D , Tres Dawg/Purple Poodle Nutz , and Purplewreck dialed to the tits , and they ALL were Cal/Mag whores that HADTA have it till last couple weeks bloomage or the yields and returns would NOT be consistent run after run...so whaddya do....Feed the Whores......

As HL and Dbro stated , learning growth structure , nutrient requirements , and flowering tendencies with each individual strain/hybrid goes a loooooong way in helpin yas pull every gram yas can out of em come chop.....then....

Proper watts per sq ft AND above all perfect environment will make yas happy....How them bitches doin Dabs ?......

Holler....Freds....:ying:.....

Thanks for the informative response... Things seem to be really bumping right now using 3/2 @ 1.5 EC... Im 13 Days into flower at this point.

The same plant that showed a very mild P def has two leaves on it that are newly affected. The rest of the room is like the single leaf picture from above.... Idk why this one plant is the only one having problems... After stretch I'll switch to the 2g/2g and then dilute down to ~700ish and see how that goes until flush...

Using a recipe tailored towards coco seems smart to me

I'll take some pics later for you freds, The plants finally look like they're stretching. Training them like fans and pulling the laterals down really hurt the vertical height, but After 2 weeks they're finally heading for the roof and the foliage is completely filled in from side to side...Should End up a nice perfect wall of weed without too many gaps. Now i gotta hope that the nightmare pheno's i selected from last round hit 1 unit each and I'll be fairly happy

:)
