Disease cycle

The fungi which cause powdery mildew are spread by spores produced in the white patches. These spores are blown in the wind to other parts of the plant or to other plants during the growing season. Generally each species of fungus will be limited in the number of plant species that can be attacked. For example the species of fungus infecting lilacs will not cause powdery mildew on apples.

During the winter the fungus survives on infected plant parts and in debris such as fallen leaves. It may produce resting structures known as cleistothecia, which resist harsh winter conditions. These will appear as small black dots within the white powdery patches

Is it tough to get rid of? Peroxide?

can't you avoid PM indoors by keeping humidity low & having good air circulation? I don't know any good way to stop it outdoors. Supposedly spraying the plant with a milk and water solution helps prevent it.

OK....what does MSS stand for? never heard of it.

hey muleskinner...that's what i do and it's what i've done from day #one...when i get a good strain,or clone my #1 priority is to either f2,or make a hybrid cross...then i kick back with unlimited supply of seed...it's a great philosophy

it's funny to see how different people react to legal home growing - I have a couple friends who I call "strainaholics"....they trade pollen like vials of crack! My buddy has a dedicated "male shack" tent, last time I visited he had 3 different males in there at once.

He wants to start a "stud service" business where he comes to your house with 25 different kinds of pollen and "services" your female flowers, it is a cool idea.

I second that Dan. I recently got a cut from a legit but non educated source and it was trash. I wish he took care of the moms. Has the original parents of the ecsd and never took care of them... A shame. I know they were still good vigorous kids 8 years ago when I seen him prior to last. What I would do for anything worth growing. Seeds are fun but a lot of time wasted. I wanted a cut of some tried and true heritage. Back to the chalkboard and wallet

That's funny, Great idea, but funny. It was just a matter of time before some started a Canajiggelo service.

I smoked what was supposed to be MSS since I moved here but it didn't leave any major impression on me. might not have been it.

same with some supposed to be verified by DJ original blueberry that I tried last weekend at the TetraHydro club. it smelled really nice in the bag, strong blueberry smell, but the smoke didnt even come close to todays elites. we passed the joint around once then went back to smoking cookies and OG.

I was in a hydro shop today and the guy behind the counter was rolling a joint. when he finished I realized that whatever it was I couldn't even smell a whiff of it where I was standing.
I went out to my car and got a bud of sour dubb for him and a guy on the other side of the store immediately remarked on the smell of the Dubb when I walked in with a gram in my hand.

nothing I like better than being the guy who gets to give someone their first taste of a really special strain.
homie was well baked from the dubb and bought me dinner.
elite cuts make a huge impression on the east coast smokers.

most of the commercial bud here just isn't loud even when it looks top shelf and is called by a popular name.

if it didn't leave an impression on ya ..... then it wasn't well grown or just wasn't it . it would stink up the room when it was lit or taken out of the bag !

I wonder how many cuts were tossed due to a poor grower, I bet the next cookies or ecsd is in the trash right now!

Infestation is the number one cause of lost cut according to the New England Journal of Medicine.

it makes sense...it's very admirable accomplishment for a grower to keep and maintain a healthy clone going year after year

Did anyone go to the CannMed Conference? Care to share any details about what was talked about?

Also, NECANN is next weekend! Anyone know of any particular booths that will be worth checking out?

Cannamed sold out and was super expensive to begin with.
I think pre-reg was $295. way more than I could afford.

they put all the lecture videos online from the past so you just need to wait a bit.
go watch last year on their site, much of it was good.

same thing for Necann. $85 bucks a day for access to booths AND lectures. parking will prolly run $30+ too.

$25 to just get in without lectures and they want you to buy in advance and claim only limited tickets available at the door.

I've never been to a weed event where weed isn't allowed before and I'm not really excited about this today as I debate the drive and parking nightmare.

anyone want to drive me? I'll smoke you way-way-way out.

Boston traffic just blows but I might make it, if you are driving there from the south DM me about a ride.:tiphat:

Definitely wasn't Mass Super Skunk. Only had the chance to put my lungs on her about 10 years back 08 09 ish. Some of the best ive ever had. I've heard DJs Blueberry has fallen off quite a bit in the past few years (herms, bad germ rates, etc) . Been smoking for twenty years about and always go back to Kush, Sour, and the Dog. Have a Jew Gold and Chem 91 in the veg tent and cannot wait to put em in the flower next round. Cheers from Maine guys
