Today the early votes should start coming in from judges. As each vote is cast it will be instantly, publicly tallied, a level of transparency we could sorely use in our American elections. A lot is at stake for the coffeeshops and seed companies involved, so the tension builds as we get closer to a decision on Thursday: Which strain will be honored as the best pot in Amsterdam?

Actualy - the greenhouse didn't enter the cantelope haze - but I was smoking it last night - and it was very good - real taste of cantelope - delish

the greenhouse entered Arjans Haze - which came 1st in the peoples cup -

there are some other threads on IC and OG that discuss a conversation over heard by a group of og growers that took place between Arjan and Steve Hagar - but so what - we all knew how it worked anyway - didn't we ?

I was one of the celebrity judges

the Judging was hard as we didn't have a lot of time and there were load's of samples
Gypsy was at the milk way (Melkweg) most days handing out free seed's to everyone that entered
myself, Gypsy and Dutchgrown arrived by horse drawn cab one day that was fun
there were quite a few OG members there but I didn't meet any IC people

Oh well we have the IC mag growers cup in about 6 months

.......Thanks for the results O.P......I was there and got some pics in between giving away thousands of packs of free seeds.....I must have pressed a pack of seeds or 5 into the hands of nearly everyone that attended this years Cannabis Cup......and so hopefully we will have cultivated many who have not grown before and may now have a go at it?..........many there were growers and lovers of the plant already and most of these guys/gals eagerly accepted my humble offering of a pack or two of seeds...

It seems to me that if you just literally give people the seeds to get started many more people will cultivate cannabis and this is what we need to do in our righteous quest of overgrowing the planet.........so this year....instead of paying High Times thousands of dollars to have a stall at the Cannabis Cup..... I decided to spend that money on getting 14,000 nicely printed seed packs of 10 seeds a pack together.....and then attempt to give them away at the door of the Melkweg..........and when the awards ceremony was going on I just threw handfulls of seedpacks of South African Durban x Skunk#1......and Skunk#1 from the balcony all over the crowd.......what a laugh!

I have been a judge in the past at the Cannabis Cup but was actually glad not to be asked this year because its alot of wear and tear on your lungs toking on something that has perhaps been adulterated with chemicals in someones garden who you do not know... and you have to test it.....thats why I always prefer to toke on my own stash.......or from a tried and trusted sorce.......When it was all over I felt pretty good in comparrison to past years because I just did not over-do the smoking/vaping and ream my lungs with coughing so much as I have done by over-doing it at past cannabis cups.......How anyone can actually be objective in deciding what is the best weed when they have to test 40 varieties of weed and hash in 3-4 days is beyond me?......But it was rather fun.....and it was great to see some old faces.....and press a pack of seeds into their hand...

...Props to Dutchgrown and Ronnie who helped me give seeds to Ben and Ravi and Alan Dronkers......we gave seeds to Adam from THSeeds.....I gave seeds to Soma........we gave seeds to Nol Van Schaik.....and Aryan and some guy called breeder steve......I gave seeds to the bubbleman.....and Eddie Lepp........oh yeah and Eagle Bill.......we gave seeds to Eddie from the Flying Dutchmen....K.C.Brains....Sita........Simon from Serious Seeds.....Luc and Ali Baba from Paradise seeds......Mila..... Old Pink......nardsofdank.......Peter U.K.......Bramski.......some freebie packs went to Aaron and Donja from D.N.A. genetics.(congrats on getting 3rd place Indica with the L.A. Confidential!)........even Reeferman got a pack or six amongst many others(congrats to him for winning the best sativa!)........I managed to get a whole network of people to give the seeds away to anyone that might take a shine at cultivating our favourite plant no matter who they were nor where they came from....over the course of the cup I think that we managed to give away about 6000 packs......so I still have alot left to give away with seed orders into the future...

.....I did'nt try much of the weed and hash what got judged on at the Cup.....I mainly stuck with some Grey Haze from the Grey Area coffeeshop and the odd offered bong-hit of bubblehash whilst in my shop trying to be a good host........by making the visitors feel welcome and comfortable.....packing bongs and conversing with all and sundry whilst trying to be amusing amongst a host of other things......yes I must have been multi-tasking.......
