The concept of Ice separation is breaking the bond the glandular trichome has to cellulose, freezing does this, as solvents do for BHO
The more exposure the better, just like when vaping with the volcano.
I always hand chop, don't even use a grinder or a herb grinder, but....
A food processor with clean blades has been known to produce some fine material for the bags if volume is needed.

I would recommend against using a food processor since, although you do get a better yield, it lets more green (contaminants) through. I would just break it up into the small individual pieces, take out all the stem

yeah, i've tried the whole coffee grinder/food processor thing & it made the hash really bad cause of all the green. just dry your corn thoroughly & it will be easier to deal with. nothin' beats doing it by hand for gettin' the best smoke.

Thanks for the feedback. i will breack them up by hand since they are bone dry the refreeze and bubble. I don't think i will hand mix for fear of frostbite. See everyone soon with my results. HG what number should i volc the bubble at, or will it melt into the heat element.

Vaporizers are good for releasing the THC from cellulose, and activating the terpines and flavinoids, but Hash has already separated the cellulose.
the pyrolitic compounds produced by flaming hash I can deal with.
Just my preference.
All volcanos should operate at 6.6 for evisceration of the good stuff and not burning the cellulose.

the "secret" to high quality is to use lots of ice and have good quality starting material..and of course follow Bubble man's instructions

you don't want to try to ice hash big chunks of bud or on the other hand try to pulverise the bud into dust first....try to find a comprimise between these two....I usually lightly grind the bud through a herb grinder and dump this onto the water and ice...I find that about joint rolling consistancy is a good comprismise between quality and quantity

Here it is. Thank you all for the tips, the hash came out fine. It was almost pure white/yellow when it was first done. It seems to darken a shade as each hour passes. Well it seems my improvesed bags worked well so i think it is high time I buy some official bags. Have a good day every one i know i will. Oh by the way i did only one run with it, about a oz +/- of trim and popcorn. There is much more to come he he.

After you run the plant metter through the bags, you can re-dry it and pull out the remaining cannabinoids with an oil extraction.
I would only add this to this thread. I never turn my volcano past 5, as we have tested the heat source with our steinel gun, with digital read out, and found the vapor at 385degrees F, was accurate at 5. However the read out they give you on their site, says its closer to 7. 6.5 or something. However they are not taking into account that metal conducts heat. and their entire heating chamber for the volcano is stainless steel inside. So blowing 385 degrees into this small chamber, will raise the temperature, we've found to around 420degrees F. Now with benzene being released at 392F, we prefer to keep it lower. I find i still get all the power of my hits, but in a lighter tastier vapor.

We were talkin' earlier about processing your popcorn by hand; to clarify: I usually use a Sweetleaf grinder but if I have a ton of stuff I whip out the ol' 8" kitchen knife & chop it up like any herb that's used for cooking. Works great.

Nice chunk of hash LS. Hope you enjoyed it. Also, good information on the volcano bubbleman. Was wondering which setting to set mine on. Thanks. BTW, love your bags man. They are the bombdiggityest things I've ever used.
