Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund Defends Agency's Role In Jan. 6 Attack

Sund said Capitol Police did not receive intelligence from the FBI or other agencies of an orchestrated attack. It was later revealed that the FBI was aware of some extremist activity and said it shared a warning with its partners, including the Capitol Police.

He also rejects claims that bias, or systemic racism, played a role in the decisions leading up to, or on, that day. He said it's unfair to compare security for the joint session with other high-profile events at the Capitol, such as the 2018 Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh, which saw more than 200 arrests.

However, he signaled that perhaps congressional oversight of Capitol Police may have had a role to play in the security failures.

"I know a number of a number of groups are investigating this incident. I think they'll find that it's a very convoluted, bureaucratic method of maintaining security in the nation's capital," Sund said.

"And I think Mr. Sund – he hasn't even called us since this happened," Pelosi told reporters. "So, I have made him aware that I would be saying that we're calling for his resignation."

I think most ICMag members, if they had gone to the Jan 6 2021 protest, would have been smart enough to stay outdoors.

Plus that protest needed some Cannabis smoke.

It was the PayTriots who encouraged the mayhem. All true to Q told people to stay away. The story will be told and much more factual than the Pelosi Productions.

Actually, she’s not.
Pelosi and McConnell both share Capitol Police oversight responsibilities, but neither are “in charge of security if the congress”.

Actually she does....if she alone can demand the sergeant of arms resignation, install metal detectors, and issue fines for members who do not wear mask, and is in charge of orders of impeachment....shes in charge of the house
3rd in line to the president

ARTICLE VII - OFFICERS OF THE HOUSE

7.20 DUTIES OF THE SERGEANT AT ARMS. The Sergeant at Arms must carry out all orders of the House or the Speaker and perform all other services pertaining to the office of Sergeant at Arms, including: maintaining order in the Chamber and other areas used for the business of the House and its committees and divisions and members; supervising the entering and exiting from the Chamber and the other areas; and promptly delivering messages

And open Capital Police Offices around the country. Pelosi's National Stormtroopers.

In a Congressional First Pelosi Opens Satellite Field Offices for DC Capitol Police in Florida and California to Deal with Regional Threats

The U.S. Capitol Police on Tuesday announced that the agency was opening regional field offices in California and Florida to investigate threats to members of Congress in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Threats against members of Congress have increased in recent years. As of Tuesday, total threats so far in 2021 were double what they were at this point a year ago, according to Capitol Police.

[…] “At this time, Florida and California are where the majority of our potential threats are,” a department spokesperson said in a statement. “The field offices will be the first for the Department. A regional approach to investigating and prosecuting threats against Members is important, so we will be working closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in those locations.”

How to destroy Democracy brought to you By JB Pritzger.

Destroying democracy to save democracy, JB Pritzker-style

https://wirepoints.org/destroying-d...racy-jb-pritzker-style-wirepoints-quickpoint/

Law professor Jonathan Turley wrote on Thursday condemning how Democratic groups and commentators are seeking to remove as many as 120 Republicans from ballots in the name of democracy. Turley is nationally recognized for his objectivity and impartiality, earning his newsletter, Res Ipsa Loquitur, an astounding 55 million subscribers.

Turley explained plans to allege that dozens of sitting Republican officeholders participated in what accusers characterize as an insurrection – the 1/6/21 Capitol Building incursion — thereby supposedly disqualifying themselves from office under an obscure provision of the Constitution. That would be like burning books in the name of literacy, Turley wrote, and destroying democracy in order to save democracy.

Turley should consider Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s comments because Pritzker would go further. On Thursday’s 1/6 anniversary, Pritzker wrote this on Twitter:

A year ago today we witnessed a vicious attack on our Capitol and democracy. We can’t sweep the events of Jan. 6 under the rug, and we can’t allow insurrectionists to rewrite history. The facts of that day cannot be up for debate. And those who deny them cannot hold office. [Emphasis added.]

Got that? Agree to the facts as Pritzker sees them or you cannot hold office. Note that Pritzker apparently wouldn’t even require participation in the alleged insurrection to bar somebody from office. Instead, you and everybody else should be barred from office merely if you see the facts differently.

Congress is comprised of the House of Representatives AND the Senate.
Pelosi is the leader of the House and McConnell was the leader of the Senate on J6.
The House has a Sergeant at Arms and the Senate has an equivalent position called the Doorkeeper aka Sergeant at Arms.
The sergeant at Arms and the Doorkeeper sit on a board that oversees the Capitol Police, but they do not run the Capitol Police.
Thusly, Pelosi and McConnell shared Capitol Police oversight responsibilities and neither are directly responsible for the security of “CONGRESS”.

I understand it's hard for you to accept the facts,nevertheless..Pelosi was well briefed
In advance from the fbi of the potential security risk....she chose no action

The house Sargent at arms who answers to Pelosi is in charge of security of the house
the building and all congresspersons within the house chamber
This was a joint session on j6 in ....the house chamber...this puts it directly in the lap of
the house SAA and Pelosi..
nothing to do with the Senate SAA/Door keepers who run security for the Senate side

she was apparently busy hiding under a desk at the time....soiling her granny pannies

As the chief law enforcement officer of the House, the Sergeant at Arms is responsible for security in the House wing of the United States Capitol, the House office buildings, and on adjacent grounds. Under the direction of the Speaker of the House or other presiding officer, the Sergeant at Arms plays an integral role in maintaining order and decorum in the House chamber

McConnell received the exact same briefing and told the Doorknocker not to do anything.
The House sergeant at Arms consulted with the Senate Doorknocker and took his instructions from him, via McConnell.
There’s lots of blame to go around, but i stand by my point that the Speaker of the House is NOT responsible for the security of the Congress(both chambers).
The link i provided earlier clearly shows the chain of command for the Capitol Police and the Speaker of the House is NOT in the chart.
Please show me where the constitution/ rules of the House of Representatives says otherwise.

i know you don’t like facts:D but I’ll post this link here for you anyways. lol

https://www.politifact.com/factcheck...responsibilit/

Our ruling

A widely shared Facebook post claimed that only Pelosi is "responsible for what happened at the Capitol" on Jan. 6, "security at the Capitol is her job."

Responsibility for Capitol security is shared, it is not solely the responsibility of the Speaker.

Security is provided by the sergeant-at-arms of the House, the sergeant-at-arms of the Senate and the Capitol Police. The House sergeant-at-arms reports to the House speaker, Pelosi. The Senate sergeant-at-arms reports to the Senate majority leader, then McConnell. The Capitol Police is overseen by a four-member board that includes both sergeants-at-arms.

News reports indicate that before the attack, the House sergeant-at-arms resisted calls from the Capitol Police to bring in the National Guard for extra security at the Capitol because of "optics," but he said intelligence reports didn’t warrant the extra security.

The chain of command for Capitol security does include Pelosi, but it does not fall solely to her as this post claims. Others in the chain of command include the Senate majority leader and the Capitol police chief. We rate the claim Mostly False.

No sense in trying to twist it..
The command structure is clearly laid out
in house rules...the house saa answers to pelosi alone... period full stop...if it happens in the house ...it's on the house
and Pelosi is the speaker of the house...there are no committes or groups that override that fact....not even Mitch McConnell ...
were not talking about Capitol police, they are subservient

I rate politico....mostly biased with a touch of head up their ass

Big surprise. The audit Trump demanded in Texas found out of over 11 million votes cast, 17 were from deceased voters and 60 were "cross state duplicates".

77 votes is apparently "widespread fraud". I wonder how many of those duplicate and dead votes were for Trump.
