create your own line within a established strain?

Alot of high end pure bred dogs have restrictive registrations were you can't breed them or get them registered. I have a bitch now that I had to sign my life away that I would not breed here and potentially deminish the integrity of the specific bloodline. I had another on awhile back that I had to get written permission from the owner of the bloodline(person I bought the dog from) and they had to approve the sire. So don't think it doesn't happen every day in other industries.

With all that being said you can breed the dog to any dog you want, no one can stop ya but you won't get papers, pedigree information, and all litters would have to be unregistered and you don't get $2000-$3000 bucks for dogs without them, period.

Nobody cares if you or anyone else makes thier own seeds.We had a guy one time at OG named "exelitexe" that used to tell everybody they were peeing in the genepool by making thier own seeds but he was a fool and nobody listened to him.

If you grow weed long enough you will naturally want to breed your own seeds eventually.

And JLP was right about money not being the original topic. I think CBF was talking about private stash and what to call it. ("Strain 1 X Strain 2 X Strain 3 backcrossed with 2, I think" gets to be a little tedious in conversation. But it would be cool to say, "here try this strain I developed myslef, I call it 'Orange-gasm.'")

But if yer in BUSINESS with this shit, I can see how the use of names could get to be a sensitive topic. Still, I think if breeders are straigtforward about what they started with and what they did with it, then there isn't much room for complaint.

And like I said, I sure am grateful for some of the wonderful gene lines that I can buy for 15 or 20 bucks. It may not be the creme de la creme, but it sure gets me stoned.

Thanks Tex,I didn't know that about the dogs.Perhaps that was a bad analogy.All my dogs have been from the pound or usually hand me downs.
Maybe people would have been a better example,I believe in most states it is now illegal to buy and sell people,or maybe we're just not worth as much as a dog.
Questions linger,but I think we're all in agreement that making your own seeds is not a crime.
