I cant figure this out ... did they ask if they could come and look ... or did they just tell you that they were coming ? And after all these years why now and what for ? did your wife ask them anything about there reason for coming in the first place ? This all sounds way to fishy to me. But regardless of what it is realy about ( cause you probably wont ever find out) I would definitly change insurence co. soon as possible !

My folks are awesome - but I'm no kid (mid 40's), and I've always told them the truth about smokin' and growin'.

They swab for toxic mold and lead. Never heard of anything else, but that's what they always do to my rentals, and then charge me for it!

OK - well, inspection done, and one paranoid stoner now laughing at himself... 
The guy was here 5 minutes - asked maybe 5 questions about age of house, smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, etc.
Looked at basement for furnace and hydro panel - took pics of both. Took pics of kitchen, back porch and front porch (I have a sweet front porch an ex-sisterinlaw once described as a "beer drinkin' porch", it's huge, high and dry). Never even looked at upstairs, attic, etc.
Didn't swab a thing - I finally joked that I'd pictured a visit from CDC, with white enviro suits, geiger counters and swabs for ebola, explosives and toxic mold.
He laffed and said that he could go get the suit, but that he can "tell" what kind of place he's going into, and that he only checks for "those things" if he sees or "can tell" something isn't right. We joked about meth labs / grow houses (he brought it up), and he made some references to damage he's seen.
Then he left.
And I got high - whew. Gotta go back to folks house and get the girls. My folks rock.

yes they do have the right if you denie them acess they wont renew your policy, no not big brother rat, if ya live in the gulf coast region of the us i could understand swabn for mold if your liven out west i could understand swabn for meth lab. when i home has been used for a meth lab the chemicals residue left behind cause cancer and all kinds of bad stuff to the ppl brewn the meth and any or all ocupaints after the lab is shut down and moved. them chems residue stay forever and ever paint over it n/p residue stll therebadboyg said:
