Covid 19 mrna Vaccines...Yes/No?

I have the opposite viewpoint on masks based on family working with covid positive patients over the last 11-12 months.
One has a dedicated covid unit with up to 40-45 positive patients at a time. The original nine workers in that unit have never tested positive, after 11 months of forty+ hour work weeks.
They have other PPE like face shields and gowns and gloves, but to not give credit to the mask seems unreasonable

Well and still you have the risk to catch this virus.A family member calls the person's who are found to be positive and also personnel from hospitals are among them and wearing the same equipment what you describe, so there is always a chance to get infected.

That's 100% right Mex, there's always a chance to catch it, but you can greatly reduce the risk for others by not spitting into people's faces when talking to them by simply wearing a mask. Or two or three. What may sound ridiculous is simply adding more barrier layers to keep the tiny droplets of aerosol that could carry the virus if your're infected. It's reciprocal. (one proper mask, instead of layering them would definitely be preferrable though).


(And I'd also like to add that I think by now we can safely assume that the risks or suffocation from wearing a mask as well as being exposed to other pathogens "growing" in the masks from frequent use giving you pneumonio are fake news.)

Yeah, definitely not a fool proof system, I would add that those protected workers had a fair amount of luck to not be infected. They probably are more careful than most, but they still go home every night and weekend for almost a year, circulating around others and going to shop at stores.
Most of them have been vaccinated in the last couple weeks, some don’t want to be vaccinated like the general population. They can still be carriers of covid.
Mask is about all you can do besides the distancing and washing hands, cuts your odds down from being one of the people that get severe reactions.

its not about never getting it again its about your body knowing how to deal with it without dieing, or getting really sick imo. even the vaccine won't stop you getting it, only helps you not to get a sever case of it.

the local papers are saying that the biontech and pfizer vaccine being allowed here is now also shown to stop you getting covid as well as stopping you from transmitting it.

before they only had data to say you wouldn't get a bad case of it if vaccinated, so this is big and good news.

NOW we are fucking talking. how they even called it a vaccine before this point is questionable, lol. but this means they will slowly have to open things back up once the elderly are all vaccinated as much as they are willing.

I take good care of my body and am in good health.
IMO; by allowing my body's natural immunity to work as intended, will be the most beneficial/ desirable outcome for me personally.

My wife and I are scheduled for our second Moderna shot Wed afternoon. The first shot felt like any other injection. Ouch and it is sore for a couple days at the spot. No ill side effects from first dose.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Absolutely gonna get it as I’m in a high risk group. Local government announced phase 2 which should start soon includes people with chronic illnesses which I’m in. Can’t get it soon enough.
