Looks like a corvette/lambo hybrid. Still looks like it could be mid engine to me. Are those cooling vents for the engine behind the side windows? A mid engine vette would be so sick.
I think they were thinking about scrapping the mid-engine idea right before they went belly up. I would love to a mid engine personally. Some die hard corvette people feel that it's too "European."

Not the cooling vents for the brakes on the quarters, the one's on the A-pillars. Or is it an optical illusion and nothing is sticking out?

The engine code is LSA, in the Zr1 and CTS-V.
The vette will not go mid engine.
Negatory good buddy. The Zr1 runs a 7:26 on the ring, and costs 110k. The GT-R runs a 7:26 and cost 25k less.
The Z06 and GT-R sold for the same, but the Z06 tracks on average 3 seconds slower.
No AWD.
It'll stay a RWD, front engine, American Muscle. That's really it's soul. I would love to see a mid-mount American race car.

Literature I've been reading about the LFA seem to infer about a 911 turbo level of performance. The car is quite heavy if I remember correctly (the mind is fuzzy). Not to say there is anything bad with 911 turbos by any stretch.
I think my next car will be a GT-R, hopefully around 30-40k in a couple years. Car depreciation is nuts. At my old place my neighbor had a spankin new GT-R. The sound that thing made could have been recorded and put on cd.
The current crop of american muscle is in a new era of greatness... too bad it was cut short by incompetent management. Lately it's not just the corvettes, it's the cameros and even stuff like a G8 GXP or the new euro-only Focus. It's got me almost considering american cars...

The LF-A has already recorded an unofficial 7:27 on the ring, in traffic. Corvette Zr1 pulled the same as a GT-R both on private, hot laps at 7:26...The 997t is at 7:38.
Not to mention there are only going to be 500 LF-As, made from all one off components, on a propitiatory carbon fiber loom. One of about ten cars, that have a full carbon fiber chassis. This is a exclusive car, and it will also be faster than the new Ferrari 458 Italia, which CandD said would be faster than the Enzo. All speculation at this point though...

Wow. That GTR is nothing to sneeze at.
Too bad they are $90,000 grand to step into.
You can get a brand new regular C6 for about $60k TTL out the door price. Drop about $25k in it with meth cooled supercharger, heads, etc, etc and you'd have a hard time finding anybody not driving a funny car that could keep up with you.
