coolerado A/C anyone

best thing to do is use a WATER COOLED AC.there is no outdoor unit.

they come in ranges from 1-7 tons...only drawn back is they need water to cool the condensate coil. they work great I have been using them for years.

if you have any AC q's feel free to ask, I do this for a living. I can even tell you how to run your AC in defrost mode so you can run it 247 even in cold climates. Your AC will not freeze up and will work great all year round.

best thing to do is tell people you have a heatpump!

you can insulate the compressor of the ac to dampen some of the noise, or spend the extra cash and go for a pimped AC,,,ie york affinity models,,,

Yep... Here is one... http://www.coldflow-ac.com/

What models you use / recommend?

Not yet. Still like them though. Need to see one in 'action' first.

Unrelated, sort of, Anyone using a pool heat pump (in chiller mode)?

Jandy has a decently priced model (AE3000) that can operate in chiller mode and cold temps. I think watercooled mentioned this unit before.

BTU rating is ~120k but I am not sure if that is in chiller mode(reverse cycle) to?

A 10 ton chiller for 4k isn't that bad. Combine that with an ActiveAqua air handler or two and you have relatively stealthy(No HVAC dude required) installation.

I think I remember just reading that their (Jandy) heat pump in chiller mode is only 80k BTU chilling power vs 120k (heat pump) Still not a bad deal though.

Need to verify that still tough.

I ran an M30 for a few years in a Lrg 5.4Kw flower room. Hot roof [160*] in SoCal summers had it Challenged. Cant always blow cold- just dampens heat extreems.
A burner CO2 enrichment was tricky & winter only- otherwise, constant local freeway levels, cause it pushes 100% outside air. The blow-through pressure & stinky "VOC's" had to be delt with.
Rain & foggy mornings were wildcards. Local Hard water wreaked havoc on control pressure valve & solenoid. Its awkwardly big, but not heavy. Its working water run-off over-filled a 55 gal drum daily usually. It cost a lot with recommended thermostat & variable speed motor [5.5k]. but no a/c technician install & Only ~ 450 watts for 3-ton / 36k btu seemed great. Runs on 240 volt though.
Great for greenhouse use. Currently selling it

so.... this is basically a swamp cooler with a cross flow heat exchanger?

5+ grand seems steep if thats the case.
