Continuing Mg deficiency - WTF, still looking for the simple solution

If the deficiency is only with one nutrient...then what's wrong with just replacing that one nutrient?

I believe most of time people are just guessing, although nitrogen deficiency is fairly easy to spot. If you are using a well balanced fertilizer in the right amount I just don't see how you could have a deficiency.

Sometimes I see the "(interveinal chlorosis)" which you talked about earlier but it always goes away without any added Mg, and they always look their best when flowering. So they may just be getting too many hours of light during veg and its causes stress. Nowhere in nature does cannabis normally get 18 hours of light.

If you make your own nutes then I could see playing with the formula...

You're probably right on the guessing. But sort of an educated guess by matching their leaves to what commonly occurs with a particular deficiency. (from sick plant tutorials and such)

I do sort-of agree with you...but from the perspective that adding that one nutrient won't fix the problem if it's caused by a lockout from ph or an excess of another nutrient.

But your position on nutrients...I mean how many people other then greenhouse owners might mix their own nutes? Let me see...probably just you. By adding a single nutrient...aren't we modifying the formula in our store bought nutes? Just like you do?

I am using House & Garden Aqua flakes. Yes they are the correct nutes for my application. Interesting though, I talked to a H & G rep and he told me I didn't need any Cal-Mag (I have used in at a rate of 3 to 5 ml/gal as an additive always in the past) so I started this grow without any CalMag and it seems I have been playing catch up ever since. So I agree, H & G is fucked up on the mg. Pisses me off.

I use the full range at the recommended strength, A & B, ph'd to 5.8, root excelerator, Multizyme, drip clean, top booster and bud excel and shooting powder.

But because of the deficiency, I backed off several weeks ago on the nutes so maybe I made matters worse by making the plants suffer for nutrition.

Who the fuck knows anymore.
They have a full dose of nutes now (@ 900ppm, ph of 5.8). Hope they start to show some normal growth.

hey Grapeman. Have you tryed Epsom Salt for your mg deffenciy. It is a quick fix and can be apllied with a foliar for an even quicker fix.

power plant is very prone to magnesium deficiency - i think you have to make sure they are well fed with cal/mag from the start. you could try adding dolomite lime to the medium another time. i use it in my soil mix and finished a powerplant recently with no problems, but i dont know for sure if it would be the same for your medium.

TY Verdant for confirming what I have been thinking. They sure seem to need more then other strains

Good points...

Are you spraying the leaves with anything? The less water on the leaves the better... Just look at the new leaves which is what is happening now, they don't look too bad.
