computer to run big grow

Over budget, I feel that one of the weaknesses is that the iponic will only control one room properly. I like the ability to add a weather station to it but if I'm running two rooms I only need one weather Syston.
If you have both please compare then because some people might need to buy 2 iponics and that would bring the costs closer.

Growbot and growtronix are junk and riddled with problems. If you know PLCs, use a Siemens Simatic Simatic controller and with analog and switched inputs you can use it to control everything from ballasts and ACs to dampers and co2.

Did this happend to you?I am not a computer geek at all,but in my understanding to connect to the server parts of the software you need at first 1.copie of the client soft
2.username/password
3.Location of the server I.P. add.

I've installed PLCs in place of the growtronix, customers said they had problems and one growtronix unit burned up. NEVER had any PLC hacked, if there is no outside com link, how can it be done. Use Siemens Simatic and never heard of it ever being hacked.

Does anyone have pics? I would like to go the plc route but it seems much more involved. I am more of a hands on learner.

The following is the controller that I use, prior to the field wiring being hooked up. As I mentioned before, PLCs are about as close to dead reliable as any electrical device that I've ever found. Interfacing them to the web, generating reports, sending text messages, etc., are not their forte', and those capabilities get very expensive and difficult to program from what I have seen. I like the idea of using micro PLCs for the administration of everything associated with making the grow actually work, and the Growtronix software running on a dedicated PC for the things that are nice to have, but not critical to keeping the plants alive.
