Computer Power Supplies

Is the fan that cools the PSU itself working?
If yes - your new FAN is dead or not poperly connected.
If no - PSU itself is dead or black and green wire are not connected.

Fan inside of Power Supply case = Not on
Fan's connected onto power supply = Work fine
Green and black wire = Attached.

Yes, try putting a new fan in the power supply. I've tried 2 power supplies (one ATX and one was whatever the other type is), and both internal fans turned on along with the external fan I plugged in via molex adapter.

Another thought is whether or not you care about the fan inside the power supply. My power supply is in a place where it won't get hot from the lights.. that combined with the fact it is not powering a computer and using around 2-5 watts for a simple fan means that the power supply itself isn't getting hot anyway.

Maybe you don't even care about the PS internal fan. otherwise try replacing it. I got 10 80mm-PC fans for 10$ after shipping (masscool company) at newegg. I have so many extras I don't know where to put them.

I'll look into replacing it outright, I do have an xtra 80mm fan. I found mine got to about 90degrees b4 I put a small fan pointed at the box. It was only powering 1 120mm pc fan. Dynex manufacturer.

let me know if you have a problem of the PSU stopping randomly. Mine will power the internal and external molex adapter fan for anytime between 30 minutes and a day before both stop going. even when it is still plugged in.

I've tried connecting different wires to see if they keep it running but nothing. I've only so far found 2 wires that when connected then disconnected start up the fans again... I just need it to stay on continuously without me having to touch some wires every day.

any thoughts?
