mean... the soviets also used the same concentration camps the nazis used... to imprison political oponents, etc.

yes, some the soviets held were nazis, but let's not pretend the ussr was some paradise run by gods among men.

same thing goes for che "mass rape" guevara. he might have had a good idea or two (maybe), but he was an absolute monster. communism and socialism will fail every time as long as tankies worship those weak losers.

the tankies have one thing right at least. change will have to come with force. the elites aren't going to just wake up one day, realize the damage they've done, and just give up the reigns willingly. they will go down with the titanic while simultaneously believing they are the ONLY ones who are able to save the titanic from sinking.

Pigs and Oligarchs with their hand-puppets; neither one leaves the trough without serious coercion as long as there are slops in it to be had at inequitable volume. Facts.

this ain't the 1770s. farmers with pitchforks and muskets aren't gonna do squat.
That's what they said about the rag-tag VC in the 1960s and 1970s, and the Mujahedeen back when they were making WWI and WWII British .303's on portable forges and downing Soviet gunship helicopters with cables by suckering them into canyons on horseback..

Spirit and a sense righteous indignation is over 50% of the game, no matter what high-tech nonsense the DoD pays the lowest bidder to produce.

i mean i guess... but even against fancy drones? beside the fact that they love droning the wrong ppl...
The higher the tech, the more problematic after a while. Not that oppositions don't develop means by which to defeat the higher tech over time.

The US Military and CIA used drones and bunker-buster bombs in Afghanistan and illegally used drones and missiles in Pakistan. The Taliban still run the place, for better or for worse.

Though they lost ground more slowly over time, the Jews of Warsaw and their somewhat infamous 'Butterknife Brigades' functioned on the same premise the Sons of Liberty did when battling the Kings's Army and Navy in the 1700s.

When one lacks a tool or weapon, go out, kill an opposition member in possession of that weapon or tool, and.... problem solved. They even raided the King's armories and stole his muskets and cannons, as well as munitions and powder. Of course, the King cried "FOUL!!!"..... not that it mattered much, other than to print some new wanted posters. He still got his ass kicked.

Guerilla warfare has been equalizing the odds with Goliath-type militaries for centuries; sometimes more effectively than others.

Israel now admits in many conversations within Bibi's war cabinet that they cannot effectively eradicate Hamas. Bibi's bullshit was hollow bravado to begin with, which has done little other than to kill a shitload of civilian non-combatant Palestinians and to alienate most countries at the UN with eyes to see and ears to hear.

The somewhat exaggerated and romanticized premise of the Butterknife Brigades was to take a butter knife and use it to capture a dagger from the Germans. Take the dagger and use it to capture an MP-40. Then take that and capture an MG-34, and so on and so forth.

There's sufficient military and former military with ample resentment of monarchy, oligarchy, and corporatism, who are trained in driving everything from Humvees to F-16s to light or heavy armor. And Uncle Sam has largely left them to their own devices.

~1/3 of homeless are veterans living in the streets, and the rates of daily/hourly veteran suicides are startling. They're not happy with Uncle's less than impressive efforts toward meeting his obligations in that deal. Uncle figures everyone is disposable and remains complacent once beyond his inflated propagandized fanfare and brass bands with confetti banging the drums of war.

Then reality hits, just as it has in many post-war periods, and many realize it was never about the red, white, and blue or love of Country to begin with. In fact, the majority of the stuffed shirts pushing the whole red, white and blue rhetoric and propaganda are often among the least truly patriotic and are little more than manipulative, opportunistic sociopaths with few morals and even less allegiance, looking to gain something, whether reputation, position, power, or (????).

The motherfuckers have gone too far now, creating a monarchy-like set of imaginary powers in the administrative office that exists nowhere in the Constitution at all. Fictional writing by a group who claim, absurdly, ironically, and disingenuously to be 'originalists' where the Constitution is concerned.

'It's' coming now, and they don't yet even realize it. That's how deluded, uninformed, unobservant, and well insulated from reality they are in their pretend non-existent Teflon and Kevlar coatings.

i'm just fuckin flabbergasted that they are saying it fully out loud...

"we are doing a 1776 part two, libs, and you'd better stay out of our way if you don't want bloodshed" to paraphrase coward roberts of the anti- patriotic (oh, you've noticed, too, @moose eater??) heritage foundation.

i hate antipats.

They're saying that they're going to install monarchy-like powers for THEIR guy, and if the country doesn't like it, especially the Left, then we can all get bloody.

Sounds like a taunt and a dare to me.

And the 'insult to injury' is that the punctuation has been put into place by a SCOTUS that has been caught taking what is tantamount to $millions in bribes and has committed blatant ethical violations that would make most lower court judges hang their heads in shame. Primadonna motherfuckers that they are.

Any lesser-powered force has always had the opportunity for a first strike, providing the benefit of no warning and the resulting element of surprise.. Someone ought to use that opportunity in a meaningful, well-targeted way.

And I strongly believe, though only recently, that this move by them has been in the works for 20 years or more.

GW Bush's PNAC and his criminal cabal that was never prosecuted for the unlawful deaths of roughly 1 million Iraqis in an illegal invasion he fabricated evidence for in order to pull off, now Project 2025, the previous arguing that an outgoing President who's still in office can't nominate judges (despite there being nothing at all in the law or US Constitution to that effect), while those complaining about that have done precisely that. And much, much more. This game has been being rigged for a long while now.

There's also the hard-learned lesson in another chapter of "The Harder They Come" when the French Military thought they were 'all of that' in Algiers between 1954 and 1962.

Ooops!!

Probably a lot like General George Custer felt at Little Big Horn in those final moments, when the women of the Band were scalping his officers, and he was examining the 'skewers' sticking out of his body... and the related blood spewing forth.

Sucks to be an overly confident bully in the wrong moment in history.

yeah, from what i understand it was the mid 90s when they started putting it together. aka "project 1995" is a tad late.

but then again, there's been shit in the works like this since the reagan years.

[incidentally kinda, reagan had a younger john roberts (wait, is he related to kevin?) look into a way to undo roe v wade and brown v board decisions.

roberts succeeded in finding the route, but they ultimately left it alone because iirc congress (although red majority) didn't have enough loyalists or some shit.
]

the billionaire class have been consolidating their power on steroids lately, and they've got almost the whole gop and many of the dnc on their side. i think this shit is just an extension of that.

project 2025 where the epa, osha (nixons's babies, iirc lol) will be gutted along with the executive branch departments in general. mothers will be murdered left and right via "pro" life policy, and judges will be further radicalized and bought out.

they are literally trying to destroy america and replace it with trump-christoria,

(and i guess make us into CHATTEL slaves and do the genocide against trans and maybe gay people and pretty much everyone that isn't a white christian right winger male. if they have their way, women will be in marriage shackles and we will have christian nationalist schools, our kids forced to be indoctrinated with revisionist nonsense and biblical "science".... this last section is my conjecture as well as my worst nightmare.

i take solace in the thought that eventually the fascists will probably eventually come for even the fascists

Partisanism is a significant part of the problem in my opinion, involving what is often times a forfeiture of personal insights, values and thoughts in exchange for a team jersey.

:good: they'll end up just like Il Duce and Adolph did. hanging by their feet from lamp posts or dead by their own hands locked in a bunker. "those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it".

I have an OLD book here titled 'America in Pictures', which I've had since I was quite young.

In it is a picture of Mussolini, his driver, his concubine, and maybe another person, hanging up-side-down by concertina wire in the town square, dripping blood, inverted, having been dragged there through the crowd that spat on them and threw fruit, veggies, and more solid items at them.

It's quite graphic, and ought to be taken as the resulting end photo for all despots eventually meeting their karma at the hands of the force and power they idolized..

I hope those behind such events as the recent SCOTUS ruling re. 'immunity' (quasi-monarchy), illegal invasions, genocide, and more, and those who planned this moment in time for decades, end up JUST LIKE THAT. And I would contribute time and money to making that effort occur.

i'd like to wrap the wire around them. i'd hate for it to slip and them fall... :good:
They have special twist plyers for such jobs, used for tightening structural tied wire in aircraft, incorporating the mechanism similar to that found in old push-actuated hand drills and drivers. There might be some pull-actuated sorts of that tool as well, I believe. Wouldn't want the tools to push and push and not reach any rigid tension on their pampered soft bodies; like trying to remove a hook and bait from a skate when it's swallowed the items half-way down its throat, and the lack of rigid structure allows the plyers to just keep pushing the hook and bait without dislodging due to the collapse of soft tissue in the skate's throat. Ugly frustrating scene. Best avoided.

Proper tool for the job is what I always say.
