Did an outdoor grow once. Nothing big. I ended up losing everything. I suspect it was a hungry deer that ate my ladies. I've just stuck to indoor since

C@nn@M@n- Thx for stoppin thru! My first outdoor plant got munched by the deer too! I built a fence next to my shed and never looked back. Outdoor is the shizzle mcsnazzle!! No power bills, no mites, no fans, no co2, no timers, no popcorn buds, no nonsense... I still run indo but my main goal is to have a year round greenhouse.:dance013:

I feel you on the no power bill. I dread opening that envelope every month! I would like to plant something by my shed, but it would be men in blue uniforms yanking my plants out of the ground instead of deer!

ahhh the good old days .......

we always had to worry about farmers and livestock destroying or eating our crop

growing "where the deer and antelope play" is a bitch when the deer and antelope like eating pot more than we liked smoking it

but i would love to be able to go back and try it again knowing what i know now

Yeah that hot wind is lovely on fresh xplants... Too much mulch was hurtin one o my raspberries. Not sure when i'll mulch the ladies. Everything goes on drip timer in a week or so, prob mulch em then...

Thought I'd post a trick/tip. So much behind-the-scenes action it's hard to document it all. LMAO...Here's how I survive the first winds of the season. Velcro tie with ze furry side in.

Pullin' up a seat for this one. Looking forward to watching you do your thing this season. Watching a great grow from the same area as mine can only be beneficial in my mind.
Good Luck & Karma for you & yours this year.

CalienteCarlos- Nice thread and nice plants! I wasnt sure outdoor was viable in this state, probably because i have been living in the high mountain areas since i moved here. I am growing at 10,000ft in a greenhouse. Not much of an outdoor season up here. I saw that you were interested in greehouses. Just wanted to let you know that a yurt covered with plastic equals a cheap greenhouse. I can put a 16ft diameter ~180 sqft greenhouse yurt together for between 200 and 300, materials are 2x4s, 4x4 plywood sheet, hardware(nuts, bolts, washers), and plastic. It takes a day to build and one person can put it up. It holds up to weather very nicely. At one point I had almost over a foot of snow on the roof and it withstands high winds. If you want info about building a yurt greenhouse PM me. I should be posting on the growing large plant outdoor thread at some point this season.

Once again beautiful plants!

soursmellfoggy- Thx for blazin thru! That wild pic is the hills of Malawi. Acres of gnarbar indica strictly grown for mindnumbing shish. My backyard will eventually look like that... Lets go CO64 n then full legalization!!!

Indonesia- Thx glad ya peeped! I grew up at 9600 ft and never had luck indoors or outdoors. I'm at 6600 ft on the west slope now and lovin it!!! Thank you on the greenhouse offer! Spent a bit of time in yurts... There's quite a few greenhouse converted yurts in the Crestone area:) I do a lot of metal fabrication on my days off from jardinero and will most likely build a galvanized hoophouse style cold frame. I'd like to see some pics of your yurt tho bc not everybody wants a hoophouse stylee. Feel free to post em here if ya'd like too. Thx again!
