Colorado MMJ License ?'s

Sportster

FULL TILT BOOGIE...
Right now it's taking two to three months to get your actual card.

Oregon has been an active MMJ state now for going on 10 years, and since its concept, its common for us to wait 90 days for our renewals/new cards...The thing here is, once you've submitted your application and copy it as well as payment record, your covered from that day on until the actual card arrives...I would think Colorado would follow some kinda suite like that??...

Somebody needs to do something about that. If they are getting $90 for each application that they receive, can't they hire a couple of temps to get the data entered ?

Come on... 3 Months to print and mail a certificate ? Seems like an intentional delay or they are diverting the MMJ registry funds somewhere else.

Why??..as I stated above, check into your laws there and see if your not covered once application is submitted with copy of payment records....International delays??...and what difference would it make if they did divert the funds somewhere else??...our state had to create a program for the excess monies coming in from OMMP....$3,000,000 extra dollars they didn't have any place to put it right off the bat......takes time for those elected idiots to figure out how to justify have 3 mill from POT....when the Feds don't recognize it as a med, kinda created a small problem for them state officials....ROF!!!!

Here is an e-mail I received today after I inquired about the lateness of my card. The good news is they date the cards from the day they send them, not the date they cash the check, so at least you are getting a couple of extra months.

Dear Mr. ****:

Our records show that your check was deposited on September 4th. This means your application has cleared the initial evaluation and is waiting for data entry and card issuance. We are experiencing a backlog due to the huge number of requests we received (over 6,000 in September and over 8,000 in October). Today we are working on the applications where the money was deposited during the first week of September.

Please retain a copy of your application packet along with proof of mailing, as these provide some legal protection. I am attaching a document from our web site that provides the specific legal citation for this protection. We appreciate your patience.

Regards,
Medical Marijuana Registry

I Know several patients with different rec. One has a 10' x 10' canopy, and it states any amount that fits in this canopy. another has a letter from Dr that asks his cg to grow whatever he needs, and it states "No Limit". Now these are regular Dr not what I call pot Drs.

so lets see here:
6000x90=$540,000
8000x90=$720,000
For a total of $1,260,000.00 of income for two months. I think its time to hire more staff and start working on the backlog of applications...
my 2 cents while I wait on my card.

Hey guys I'm completely legal now, just got my rec for xx plants and xx oz!

I dont think this is the way things work in CO. From reading the law here:

http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/medicalmarijuana/amendment.html

it clearly states:
(4) (a) A patient may engage in the medical use of marijuana, with no more marijuana than is medically necessary to address a debilitating medical condition. A patient's medical use of marijuana, within the following limits, is lawful:

(I) No more than two ounces of a usable form of marijuana; and

(II) No more than six marijuana plants, with three or fewer being mature, flowering plants that are producing a usable form of marijuana.

(b) For quantities of marijuana in excess of these amounts, a patient or his or her primary care-giver may raise as an affirmative defense to charges of violation of state law that such greater amounts were medically necessary to address the patient's debilitating medical condition.

So if you go above the limits you have a Chance in court. IMHO why risk it. We are given enough for plenty of personal smoke. If you are doing this out of greed then well you are going to run the risk of going to jail just like before.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you get a new number every year when you renew. I talked to someone who knew the guy that had the #2 card issued way back and now his card says #4238 or something like that.

Not to diminish the current exponential growth of CO MMJ numbers, just trying to clear some confusion.:joint:

Correct, new number everytime you renew or get a new card for any reason they issue new number.
Here are the stats from the CDOHE site:
As of August 31 2009
* 16,505 new patient applications have been received to date since the registry began operating in June 2001. Twenty-seven (27) applications have been denied, 20 cards have been revoked, 216 patients have died, and 1,865 cards have expired, bringing the total number of patients who currently possess valid Registry ID cards to 14,377.
* Seventy-three percent of approved applicants are male.
* The average age of all patients is 40. Currently six patients are minors (under the age of 18).
* Fifty-six percent of patients reside in the Denver-metro and area (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas & Jefferson counties), with the remainder of patients found in counties throughout Colorado.
* Patients on the Registry represent all the debilitating conditions covered under Amendment 20. Severe pain is a reported condition for 90% of all registrants; muscle spasms are the second-most reported condition at 29%.
* Sixty-nine percent of patients have designated a primary care-giver (someone who has significant responsibility for managing the patient’s care).
* Over 800 different physicians have signed for patients in Colorado.
