I dunno if that list is right. A few of the big places are not on there, like the Farmacy and The Healing Center, and they both supported 1284 for sure! I've spoken to the owner of Grateful Meds, and he really didn't want anything to do 1284, his buiding isn't ADA compliant and he is a felon....thats why he's skipping town now! I doubt any of the Ned dispensaries were pro-1284, unless they didn't know what they were getting into. Thats the problem with stoners, we are too trusting of people!

Breaks my heart...

The real growers control this industry, let's keep it that way!

Funk - who the fuck was actually applauding that tool in the vid? FFS. then he says how proud he is that "we" came up with regulations for how a MJ industry should be??

I dunno I was wondering WTF those people were applauding for??
Funny Romer didn't show up, would have liked to see all the people applauding that dick. Why didn't they get someone who was at least experienced in the medical field/farming industry to do the regulations.. What does matt cook know about farming or medicine.. All this shit is retarded.. I mean at least make sure the people enforcing these regulations understand the industry, This dude has been giving out gaming/ liquor licenses.

I will quote Lewis Black on that one....

The job that prepared Michael Brown for FEMA was he was the head of the Arabian Horse Association. You can see the connection there. Not even a great fiction writer could come up with that. He ran horse shows and he was fired from that job. ... You could be drunk and be vomiting for three days and still run a horse show.

Werd on the street is the Farmacy in Denver is having trouble recouping numbers and can't make rent. They also have a spot in Boulder on Valmont and 28th that they ran out of money to develop.

This is what I'm talking about! Self-regulation! No one wants their business, don't sell to 'em, don't buy from 'em, and they will go away!

From what I've heard the farmacy was bought out by a large corporation, or so says a guy I know who was managing one of their stores, He also told me that their sales each month are really small in comparison to other spots..

that lewis black quote is good shit K+

At least it wasn't a North metro Drug Task Force guy... But I catch your drift, how the fuck are they gonna train all these people to know their ass from a hole in ground. We have traded the Cali invaders, for investment firms. And anyone who pays attention knows how well that shit will work out. Any idea what large company it is? If you are at liberty to divulge.

Thanks for that list cannagirl (Rep +1). I'm loosing my ass here. IDK what to do. I'm thinking about selling all of my stuff and living out of my backpack again to keep things running. I'm struggling a lot with depression. Right now I don't see a way to support myself as a non-profit caregiver. (at least not legally) I was struggling as it was before hb 1284 but I was getting by. I don't have a way to pay the state fees, or rent a commercial building for that matter. I still have several patients that are completely dependent on me for their meds. They don't have any money and I don't charge them. What am I supposed to tell them? "I'm sorry the law changed and now I can't be everyone's caregiver so now you have to draw straws to see who gets to keep receiving their medicine?" Do I pick the patients that I think are the most in need and tell the rest I'm sorry? I have one patient that is one of my best friends. He feels that he is going to die from colon cancer soon and volunteered to drop me as his caregiver on the condition that I promise to keep his niece with MS. He text messages me every morning with a "good morning" and a smiley face so I know he is ok. I'm sorry I'm ranting here but I need to get this off of my chest. I'm so sad right now that I don't even feel like tokin :(

Balazar,

That is a bad situation to be in. I've struggled with depression for the last 5 years and it makes every situation much harder to deal with.

The only good news I have is that some lawyers are planning on filing lawsuits against certain parts of the bill, the three specific suits I have heard about would challenge:

The five patient cap.
The residency requirement.
The ban on multiple caregivers working together.

I would expect those to be filed before July 1st, and not settled for months or longer. That should give you some breathing room.

Filing lawsuits isnt going to stop the bill from becoming law, the only way that would happen is if an injunction was granted by a judge which is highly unlikely. It most likely will be in the courts for a few years before anything happens and in the meantime it will be law.

2010 I believe. My lawyer said that any CG with patients over 5 before July '10 would most likely be gradfathered in. After that, it's 5.

i'm not sure there is any kind of grandfather clause. i'm pretty sure that whenever that part of the law goes into effect, all individuals have to drop down to 5. i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that is the case.

You are right there isn't language in the bill stating that, but I read somewhere also that that was the plan. Otherwise they'll have a gang of very sick folks on their doorstep with news cameras in tow.

Has this 1284 abomination been signed into law yet?

Just a personal grower here but wouldn't mind signing a dispensary to get a free quarter ounce as long as I can grow myself still. 1284 allows this right?

did you guys read this? I really agree with the last part, there is no conceivable way for everyone to comply by July 1st....

Sorry, that fucker can't have his cake and eat it to... 'Oh this bill is going shit, watch out patients, this is bad for you, call the governor and tell him to veto' one day and 'feed me applause because I created leading edge legislation and every med state will want to suckle my political genius teet' the next.

No offense toward you cannoiseur! :) And I agree there is no possible way to have this system in place within 2 weeks.

This is the face of the supporters of HB1284.

Ken Weaver owns and operates two medical marijuana dispensaries in Denver, including the Rocky Mountain Farmacy. Read the article about who he is and what he has done.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/100509dnproweaver.3f561d7.html

Ken Weaver had a problem with his past. A decade of scheming, stealing and prison made for many inconvenient truths. So by the time Texas licensed him to provide phone and electric service, he had constructed a heroic history.

The college dropout from Duncanville became a dual-degreed university graduate and varsity football legend. The carpenter was transformed into a corporate vice president who developed resorts in Brazil.

The fake pedigree, as well as state inattention, allowed Weaver into the lucrative deregulated utilities market. He was one of a breed of entrepreneurs who saw opportunity in selling expensive electricity to people living on the economic edge.

...and now he's in CO running MMJ biz and supporting 1284....hmmmm, I wonder who else has a shady past that supported the bill? Out with the hippies, in with the con-artists!

^^ Wow man, this guy is a piece of work. Phone scams, drug runs into mexico, utility company scams, and ditching his family to avoid more probation?

Customs agents ultimately seized the money and Weaver's truck, records show. But Weaver was charged only with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Even though he was on probation for an earlier theft of a construction tractor in Dallas County, Weaver was granted bond. He posted it and vanished, leaving behind his wife and two daughters.
