I'm pretty sure that would be Rockbud, which also goes by 'Soma', or just 'A+'. The dispensary employee obviously didn't have a clue because the prefix "soma" means "body" and IMO is synonymous with "indica".

If it is Rockbud, and it sounds like it is, it is almost entirely Indica.

Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out.

I know Soma means body so I was wondering about sativa claim, but the stuff looked so much better than anything else there. I looked at some Soma descriptions, everything seemed pretty indica'ish. It was strange smoke, nice head high for a while followed by strong sleepy lockdown.

Peace

Multiple pairs of GOOD scissors. Run em til they cant go, scrape em, clean in alcohol and go at it again...they key is to have scissors that are comfortable any have many prs...

Yeah rockin the fiskars, with my little cups of alcohol, and my big cups of wild turkey. :tiphat:

Give coconut oil a try.... greasing them works 10x better than cleaning them IMO. Just rub a real thin layer on the inside of the blade. Might lower the quality of your scissor hash a bit, but I'm more concerned with the labor involved.

Hands work well as funk says also if you dry to that stage correctly before trimming.

Rockbud?

Rockbud?

FoCo; could be Rockbud, but I'm leaning toward it being a cross

Here's a thread with pics said to be Rockbud.

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=40579&page=2

Didn't I read someplace that Rockbud leaves turned red? And do those look like indica buds?

Here's something that sounds like what I got (G13HazexRockbud from IC strainguide):

"Rock Bud`s stout indica stature remains solid as ever, but a good deal of G-13 Haze`s upwardly mobile tendencies have emerged in this quiet intimidator. The sativa influence culminates in a joyful stone less slavish to gravity than the Rock Bud – but you still won`t feel like dancing unless you already had happy feet. With a deliciously familiar taste harkening back to yesteryear, this stalwart hybrid will be warmly welcomed by smokers searching for a potent analgesic with a euphoric component. Whether that results in tripping the light fantastic or simply managing to stay awake for an extra hour of television depends entirely on you. Ideal for growers of all experience levels and virtually any environment allowing for vertical growth, G-13 Haze X Rock Bud vigorously delivers a very nice yield of mind-blowing buds."

Now I just need to find a clone somewhere.

What's going on people!!!

It's been a while since I had some time to sit and post shit here on IC. Been busy setting up my first grow.

Got things rolling now and looking forward to my very first harvest. Super excited like no other. This is probably going to be the best summer ever.

Here's a quick look at the girls about 2 weeks ago. 2 AK-Cherry Lime, 2 Bordellos, and 6 Satoris from seed.

Have a thread going documenting mainly the Satoris from seed to harvest:

Sorry kid....I DO mean CLASSIC HAND-powered Fiskars.
I don't really see how a motorized pair of shears is going to 'speed up' trimming to make it worth it, my hands work just fine. Oh, go over it AGAIN after the motor thing? yea right! That saves me TIME?

How would it not... its motorized and a constant speed.. I was just trying to offer the guys talking about trimming a lot an alternative to those commerical trimmers that demolish your buds, if it aint for you then you really need not, reply to my post at all..Kid hehe :D but its cool we all have opinions... but to say it wouldn't help is just ridiculous you could not trim as fast as that thing.. and not for nearly as long even if you COULD!!

Another subject

Shit I feel small time now and I have multiple patients. All my herb is hand trimmed and down to the bud at that.... I guess some are either pushing some weight out the door or I am old school timing it. Me and my girl trim it all by hand every last bud, especiallly our head stash. Is this industry taking a turn for the worst or is it just me.? I agree with the marijuana movement but all around me it seems like everyone is in it for a buck? I supply my patients with the best bud I can provide, and they are thankful for it!
Every other grower I run into is all about the percentage they can present their patient with and how quickly they can do it. Is this gift from the govenment coming to an end?? Just a drunken rant, maybe I feel inadequate about growing! ahaha

ace

I have patients as well and all the patients I have I give them free medication with every harvest I have.. With hopes to get more.. I offer them one plants worth of my harvest.. I mean that would be the very least I could do for them giving me this responsibility and letting me do what I love to do.. And even doing that.. one could still see making a good enough living..selling to clubs for instance. and from the looks of things.. there is plenty of bucks going around in this industry so what if some people want to make a few grow on!!!! :D

I like the powered shears!

The problems I have with them are as follows:
1) The apparatus is very awkward looking, and I bet feeling also. I would like something with a more familiar or ergonomic handle.
2) The shears are on a hard-line to electricity, I would rather battery powered.
3) Expense, and in Euro to boot.

Otherwise, I would fucking fly through the shit with those. And no carpal-tunnel.
I see a DIY coming on.

Let me ask yall a question....

Have any of you ever went into a dispensary and seen on the shelves of jarred medication some swag or as this placed labeled it "low grade"? just me I think there is a difference even between swag.. and low grade would there not be?

Today I went with a friend so he could get his card..(and make me his caregiver :D) anyway... after we were done and we go into the back.. Out of all the jars.. of medication.. I see super seedy swag.. now I laugh when I see this... but I ask them seriously? To which he says.. "It's more a service we provide for our patients to help them out... Really?! I don't see the logic in that.. but then again.. sometimes.. I have a problem seeing/accepting logical things.. =/

Some people just need a bag of weed, to medicate their need.

Price is a concern, if you don't earn!

I don't understand the schwag dealio at dispensaries, I wouldnt even cook with that crap. If they really want to provide a "service" why not procure a large amount of OK quality outdoor and sell that at cost. Or better yet, subsidize the cost of the low end with buffer profits from the top shelf.

Then again, I'm not running a dispensary...

I can see your point there.. he has an eye out for every consumer.. some places like to act shady when you don't have all kinds of money.. or maybe you want just a gram.. cuz you tired of smokin on the same medication..

lol...I guess they are providing a "service". Maybe it's something that herme'd and seeded on them...

Lol that could be the case.. but even a hermie.. could come out lookin better then this swag.. I mean.. it was seriously junior high schoolyard swag... just made me laugh when I saw it.. because I was not expecting it I guess

New to the low humidity drying. How long do you guys like to hang your plants before you start the curing in jars and how many leaves do you leave on in the begining. Do you prefer to trim before or after drying in this climate? Thanks

Fan leaves off, first thing.
Then trim sugar leaf.

Dry until stems snap.

Then curing begins...Curing doesn't mean jars, but can be.
