Colorado Growers Thread

Lots of small growers, that's the California scene, and since they're constantly hassled by law enforcement, I think we made the right choice in heavier regulation despite the harm done to the localized market, it technically doesn't exist on a legal level anymore, giving the small growers a new role, "moonshiners", less attention for them, more people smoking their Cannabis, this is the way of regulated commodities, history channel, where are you?

OTOH, medical growing continues unchanged in CO, iirc. I think there's still room for little(ish) growers there. Dunno, really. I only came back to the scene after A64 passed & I was headed for retirement. I just know a little around the edges of that, having never been a participant.

If the quality & after tax price of retail ever becomes better than/ equal to medical, they'll have problems. We really need to figure out how to integrate the 2 markets in a more sensible way somewhere down the road.

Three years from today, the market will be entirely different, maybe different than we can imagine. Outfits who figure it out, provide customers with what they want will likely make gobs of money.

Pretty much. We need to take the opportunity to be legal and just be legal, ya know?

What I want for the non-involved to notice about it is pretty much nothing different than before, other than occasional story about the loverly tax revenues & business investment, about jobs, about lower inmate populations. No lurid stories about diversion of large amounts of product to other markets, about kids hospitalized when they got into grandma's special cookies, no horrendous auto accidents attributable to cannabis, none of that or anything like it. No more idiots with guns at 4/20.

Once this settles down, I want it to be like it's always been perfectly legal & socially acceptable, no big deal. Smooth, uneventful, even boring in it normalcy. That's how we'll prove that legalization is sound policy, by living the life in our usual fashion, by staying cool.

We're at the absolute leading edge, so if we can do this well it'll become a template for many, many other places. I see no reason that we can't thoroughly discredit prohibition entirely, complete the paradigm shift that been building since the 60's.

Restaurants? Depends on what you want. These guys make great burgers & sandwiches, terrific for lunch, very busy most evenings after 6-

Texas de Brazil is heart cloggingly wonderful, make sure you go with someone you're not ashamed of pigging out in front of, and when you really start tasting the differences in flavor between the cuts of beef, you'll know you're in love.

I should probably plug some other restaurants in my neighborhood.

Carmine's is excellent, authentic & the bread is wonderful.

Both are fairly upscale.

Lotus vegetarian restaraunt

South federal by all of the Vietnamese stores.

Get one of her sandwiches for $3.75, and you won't be dissapointed.

Odyssey italian , masalla in aurora for Indian, and of course watercourse.

Good tex-mex is nonexistent in Denver. I stopped looking.

Lotus is by far my go to restaurant.

Try Santiago's. The green chile is superb. Some locations are carry-out only. Small places, small menu.

Or Benny's, 7th & Grant. A bit Americanized (if that can be said of regional American food) but quite good. Large place, large menu.

Or the Cafe Chihuahua on S Federal. Very inexpensive. The real deal as it thrives in a largely Hispanic neighborhood.

Went to a place in DTC called Del __something or another.. Truly unremarkable!

Last year went to Sullivan's downtown....... You Betcha!

Also went to Shanahan's (DTC) last year...... Also excellant! If a bit overcrowded,,,, it felt like a high end singles joint. (possibly a good thing?) Lots of what appeared to be High Maintenance Trim, if you know what I mean.

People like 'em, that's all. Not a fan myself, but they're cheap & filling.

If you sprinkled a little sugar on 'em, you'd have all the food groups- spicy, greasy, starchy & sweet.

decent mex, but at the same time not anything really to write home about

for decent mex i like el taco on santa fe. also dig a santiagos burrito from time to time.

Most definitely Little Anita's on S. Colo. Blvd and the one in Centennial and Arvada!!
New Mexico style Mexican food.

Jalapenos on Broadway, better mexican food than formal restaurants at half the price.
