I just bought Earth Juice ph down so I think the same store will have it
they had a complete line of Earth Juice products

yes, organic soil
FWIW EJ down is sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda. If you amend your soil with dolomite lime (crushed) ph balancing is unnecessary IME, but lemon juice and baking soda do the job just fine and are a lot cheaper.

EDIT** Dorje nailed it...

Yea, good healthy soil will balance its own pH. Dolomie lime keeps it all in check!

BTW, Cob, not to be a stickler for details, but its EJ Up, not down, that is sodium bicarbonate.

And anyone know where to buy powdered dolomite in Boulder? Home Depot doesn't carry it, and the 2 grow stores I frequent look at me like I'm crazy, and only carry pelletized lime. Dolomite also is a great buffer in RO water for passive hydro (i.e. coco or perl/verm)

Boulder Hydro has some, not sure on the price. Probably McGuckins too...

just so you know what I am working with:

FFOF and perlite mix
(wanting to improve this when I reuse my soil)
Age Old Bloom
(thinking of switching to earth juice products)

FFOF is fine, I use that or another brand of organic potting mix for 50% of my mix, the other parts are perlite and peat moss. FFOF is a little hot starting out but they need more N going into flowering.

Your soil will get better over time, so reuse it, don't replace it! Use the soil test kit as a guide if you're not sure what or how much amendments to add. It's better to add less dry ferts and make it up with liquid nutes when you water than to go too heavy on dry ferts and have excess nutes when the plants are trying to finish.

Also, Age Old nutes are great but the bloom is short on K, so add molasses or Earth Juice Meta-K to balance it out. Big disadvantage is the all-in-one formula so you can't customize it too much but if you do it right you won't need to... besides boosting the K levels a bit. I've seen great results from both AO and EJ nutes. I really like AO grow, it's all you need for veg... simple and easy.

Unless there is relocation to another state involved I have always reused soil and my wife promised me no more moves, FC will remain our home

The wife works in the dialysis field and the water here is MUCH cleaner than the water was in Santa Rosa, Ca. Dialysis units do extensive water testing daily. Better water and no mold issues, loving being back here

I'm thinking of adding some Happy Frog and a little more perlite when I freshen the soil before reusing this time

I'll get over and grab some Earth Juice Meta-K this week
I used up all the FF Grow Big so I will replace it with AO grow

again thank you for your time

Sentry brand...and it also tests NPK.

Hope this makes sense, I see people making this mistake all the time.

I do have one question about ph
You say not to fool with the ph in organic soil
and I understand that and thank you for
stopping me from "misery and failure"
My ph is a hair under 7 is that ok?

This is the one I grabbed when we were out getting stuff for our flower beds last week

I'll add a Sentry test kit it to my shopping list for tomorrow

Shopping List
Earth Juice Meta-K
Earth Juice Hi-Brix molasses
Sentry soil test kit
Hot Tuna @ Mishawaka tickets

I see on the front page of morning's Denver Post
that the IRS is starting to audit Colorado pot shops
Isn't that how they got Al Capone?

then I turn the front page and on page 2
some guy got busted in Wyoming on route 80
driving 68 pounds of weed from San Francisco to Colorado

Just under 7 is perfect.

However, the meter you got might change readings depending on the moisture level of the soil.

Here't the most common soil test kit around (Rapidtest), the Sentry brand is similar, but better.
