Coconut Oil!

I thought id make a thread about this wonderful oil that is perfect for making canna oil/butter.

Coconut oil is 98% saturated fat, perfect for extracting THC.
Most of its saturated fats are MCFA's (medium chain fatty acids) which burn off in the liver so they are not stored in fat cells, it also increases metabolism, meaning it will get the THC into your system faster, perfect for fast acting medicines.

It can replace oil/butter in any recipie, its much much healthier than butter & its more efficient when extracting THC, you can also store it at room temp for a long long time.

I buy from Tropiocal Traditions. It's the purist. Thewy have two kinds one barely has a coconut taste, the other is very coconutty. Too much for most cooking. I think the extra virgin is the heavier flavored

Supposedly theres no such thing as 'extra' virgin coconut oil, its just a marketing ploy.
All coconut oil is either Virgin or RBD (refined bleached & deodorized) i only use the virgin oil (the one that smells coconutty) otherwise your not using a natural product anymore, but thats up to you. RBD is made as it doesnt oxidise as fast & its flavourless, for industrial/commercial use. It can also be not as healthy to eat as virgin oil depending on your source.

Personally, if im making flapjacks i dont mind a bit of coconut flavour & i like to know they're all organic

You can make capsules out of Coconut oil, since its a solid at room temp there easy to scoop into capsules, after being enriched and heated with your herb of choice.

I love coconut oil.

Even though it is 98% saturated fat, it is a good kind of fat. it actually lowers LDL cholesterol levels. Do we just treat the coconut oil the same way as we might treat another oil or even butter (for canna-coconut oil? lol)

I tried both coconut and olive oil.
Both batches made exactly the same.

The olive oil seemed better IMO.

virgin coconut oil is very beneficial to your health as well, countries that grow and or consume lots of coconut oil are among some of the healthiest people living, the common cold is virtually nonexistent in these parts of the world. Its very good for your skin and your hair as well!

I'm interested in learning how to do this as well as I have yet to try cooking and I have some Chem 4 trim begging to be cooked up! I also have asthma so Im looking to give my lungs a break.....

What is your method of extracting the thc in the oil? What temp and how long and what types of food do you prefer to make with the oil? Thanks

Coconut oil is really excellent.

Fractionated coconut oil is even better.

It is called MCT oil (Medium Chain Triglyceride oil), found at health food stores or Google.

It stays liquid, never goes rancid and has no taste. I have been using the same container for 5 years and I store it in the closet.

I make BHO pills with cornstarch and MCT oil. 3 grams of BHO, 10.5 grams corn starch for 24 #00 pills.

I used to eat brownies and cookies and I put on over 30 pounds. Now with the pills, I get way less calories.

I found Cannabrex on the web, bought a kit and learned how to make my own. It's much easier to use the stuff they sell and it's a great way to learn.
