Im also using Bio Nova nutes with Atami Bcuzz coco substrate. I let my water sit for 24 hours before i mix my nutes. When iv mixed my A+B solution i dont have to adjust PH level (5.8-6.2 works for me). Iv been told when i start using PK 13/14 i will most likely have to adjust with PH down. This may be different for you as your water will be different. I check PH level after iv made my nute solution but im no expert.

I have used Bio Nova lines fo years and been vey satisfied! Little pricey, but good quality ratio Dumped BN on a last run, which was completely hydro, but turned out the worst way co´s a lazy partner, there were room full of this kind of dro bushes

Im using BN slabs co´s I cannot get any other brand locally, they require massive rinse before puttin use, eh? The amount of salt´s they have is crazy, I would like to try some other cocobrand too.. However, I use Hydrosupermix to handwater my plants, not the coco line and yes.. I know it´s recommended in coco that you use coco specified nute´s, but I found Bio Nova´s A+B is great in veg, but lacks in flowa That´s why I use Hydromix from start to finish, as I use the following GREAT products from Bio NOva: X-Cel, Vitrasol, ZYM & The Missing Link, which is not easy to get from my suplier anymore and is ridiculous proced, but makes love for your roots

Well see how I end up this round, switching back to my main medium

Btw.. Those q´s of mines earlier.. Im still mixing nutes first on a min 15 to 24 H old oxynated water and after that I take the PH and will continue to do this, cos it has worked miracles on my previous grows! Just the post of somebodys, made me trippin while smoking nice sat´s

So what?? I should check the PH before dosing the water with nute´s?? Always thought I should test PH after adding nute´s, co´s they surely make changes to the PH...

If somebody can clarify this for me as fast as possible, I would be very grateful!

+ those pics were hydro plants with no medium and died because of one fuck up lazy ass :wink:

Like I said.. I have done it years handwatering coco using organic ferts and keep doing so..

Whoooooaaa! Ok, so let me get this right...PH balance BEFORE nutes are added? I buy my RO water and it comes at an average of 8.0PH, after nute addition it comes out to about 3.8 with a PPM of 900-1k and I am in my 7th week of flower. I adjust to about 5.2 PH, administer, the runoff (what little there is) comes out about 6.0. My plants look great now doing this (my first grow with a few hitches, but seems like I have dialed it in).

So am I to understand that I should balance the PH, add nutes, then balance again considering my PH is 3.8 after nutes??? Or just water with the 3.8 PH. Like I said, plants look good, but always looking for something better.

My reasoning for the 5.2 balance is the right side of the following chart. Am I wrong to think this is a good idea? I have no problem being wrong btw...happens all the time LOL.

Specs: All botanicare....Ready Grow Moisture (coco/perlite), probloom, calmag+, hydroplex, liquidkarma(small dose once a week), and little of Sweet.
I water every day with nutes and minimal runoff, heavy flush once a week with clearex. I bought most of this on the recommendation of my local hydro guy, who apparently has a hard on for botanicare. Works good so far though!

6.0... Test PH BEFORE you add nutrients. Nutrients can throw the PH off so you should always PH before you add any nutrients. Once I knew how much acid to add to a 5 gal bucket of water it was easy from there on out, I only had to test PH every once in a great while just to make sure. Oh and I was using connosuir, but I think this trend will run the same for all

Sorry, but that doesn´t make much sense to me. Even Canna says to measure PH after mixing in the nutes. The amount of nutes you are feeding influences the PH. Like Canna Coco A/B lowers the PH with more concentration and Rhizotonic raises the PH level.

My RO comes out with PH 6.3. If I add Canna AB 16-18 ml/ 10 l and 5-10 ml/10l Rhizotonic, I end up with PH 6.0 without any adjustment. I try to keep the PH around 6.0. If my PH meter is off, I´m still in the adequate range between 5.8 and 6.2...

Personally I like to use different ranges for different stages of the plants life. For veg I try to stay around 5.9- 6.1, for the stretch I like 6.0- 6.2, mid flower 6.1- 6.3, and late flower 6.3- 6.4. I don't really care if the ph drifts out of those ranges too much. I make a new rez every night and start off at those numbers and by lights of things drift I up .2 or so. Key word is try. If I don't get my ph right, it's no big deal.

If you pH coming out of the tap, or after Reverse Osmosis is still about 8.0, we suggest that you using pH down and adjust your water to 7.0, then mix Supernatural Brand Nutrients. Certain mineral’s will not dissolve in when the water is too alkaline. So it best to first pH your water to 7.0 then mix.

My tap water comes out ph@9 so I need to ph before I add my nutrient...if my ph out the tap was 7 or under I would not worrie with ph before only after.

I know this is an old thread but some times it will help to ph before and maybe after adding your nutrients

Idk I always ph after when I grew in coco because specific nutrients made the ph fluctuate. Like silica blast from botanicare made the ph rise where as hygrozme or calmag plus made it go down. Tbh I usually mixed a batch and used them to adjust my ph. I was never worried if I was using 3 or ml per gallon of those additives as long as my ph is as 5.8 to 6.1 I was golden. I’d say measure after based on your nutrient regiment. This worked for me anyway.

You are right, if your water source comes with a ph level that high, it makes sense to adjust to 7.0 first. I talked to a scientist and he said, it´s the usual way to adjust to 7.0 first and then mix in the nutes and after that adjust again to the desired ph level.

But if you use pure RO things are different. Most PH meters cannot measure the ph accurately if the ppm is too low. So I can´t adjust the ph before mixing in the nutes using pure RO. But as the RO comes out relatively close to 7.0, it doesn´t matter.

I fixed my test at 5.8 but i know nuts are gonna change that slowly because i do level up them slowly as well, even more when adding pk

but i keep giving same dose of phdown (4.75ml/5L tape water+canna nuts), so it means my ph move slowly between 5.7 and 6.2, and the plants are great, they are much better than when i tried to fix my ph at 5.8 all the time...

don't focus on a "magical ph number", just don't switch from 5.7 to 6.3 in 2 waterings, to much stress for the ladies

ive been having the same issue i drift from 5.8 to 6.1 so i aim for 6.0 ph im in week 3 flower i had some issues in the begining but it seemed to be okay for now im hoping for the best ive been adding more calmag to my nutes and it seems to be going ok

Absolutely not. This is terrible advice.

pH after adding nutrients....because thats what you'll be feeding.
